Terrible audio quality when used with microphone
Audio quality is very bad when using this to connect my Rode shotgun mic to either a cell phone or laptop to record audio. The microphone has a male-to-male aux cable for sound output. This spectrogram compares identical mic settings when using the aux cable directly to the recorder (top) vs. when connected through the USB-C adapter. The audio is muffled, clunky, and sharply cut off at about 7 kHz when using the cable. This makes it completely useless for what I'd like to use it for (recording birds, which sing ~ 1 to 10 kHz).
