Review: Nice and easy, just be careful with your fingertips. - Bought this product to "fix" the hollow, echoey sound my car doors were making. The contents came in a brown box and was much heavier than I originally expected. Roughly 30-pounds. Inside the box were 9 sheets of the sound deadening material, each sheet being 36 square feet. The material was thick, yet easy to cut with a simple box cutter. I was easily able to cut through the material and backing with no trouble what so ever. Applying the deadening mat was even easier. Wipe the exposed metal with alcohol (or alcohol and water mixture), then remove the backing and apply. It's highly advised you purchase a wood roller. I attempted to push it flat and flush by hand. It wasn't long before I noticed LOTS of small but annoying cuts on my fingertips. Use the wood roller if you don't want mutilated fingertips. In short, I spent more time removing and cleaning the door than I did applying the deadening material. For my Subaru Legacy, 1 and a half sheets covered the entire driver side door. That includes the panel behind the door speaker as well as the panel holding the door speaker. I applied the deadening matter pretty thick, there wasn't much exposed metal when I was done. The end result sound of the door went from a very hollow metal sound to a VERY satisfying full door sound. It sounds like the door is one solid piece of metal. In terms of added weight, the door feels no heavier, eventhough it sounds like it weighs a ton when closing the door. The one thing I like is as you're flattening the mat, the black "glue" expands about 1/8-inch beyond the mat, letting you know that it's going to hold firm. In short, I'm very happy with the product. And for those wondering if you have to be a professional to apply this. As long as you can remove your car door interior panel (tutorials are easy to find on YouTube), you should be able to apply this with very little problem and have some good results. Again, PURCHASE A WOODEN ROLLER AND SAVE YOUR FINGERTIPS! Again, great product. As a first time installer of it, the job was easy and gave satisfying results.
Review: A solid investment for a base model or older vehicle. - In short, If you're looking to breathe a little life into an unremarkable economy vehicle or make your commute a little more comfortable, get it. ------------------------------------------------------- I drive a 2010 Nissan Altima, base model. One box was enough to do the floor, back bottom seat and half of the back wall. It was easiest to apply by cutting it into smaller rectangular shapes and making a patchwork with a little overlap. It cut easily with shears. WEAR GLOVES. The edges are sharp and the adhesive is...very effective. This stuff is impressive. Will it turn your economy sedan into an S Class? Nope. Will it make your car more comfortable and less stressful to be in. Heck yeah! I think you'll get the best value here if you're looking to improve a daily driver. A sound meter on my phone shows a 10 decibel decrease at all speeds. The road noise in my base Altima was so bad that people would comment on it and ask if I was riding a flat tire. Even alone the ride was noisy and fatiguing. After doing the floor I immediately noticed less engine idle "noise" (vibration). Pavement is still pavement, asphalt is still asphalt. However, when I reached my destination and parked I realized that for the first time in probably a decade I wasn't thinking about how much I wanted to be out of the car. I picked up a friend for a ride and they agreed. A vast improvement. Road noise is still there but it isn't an overpowering roar and seems to level out between 40mph and 60mph then increase with speed.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can headliner be applied on top of this?**
A: Yes, you can install a headliner on top of Noico 80 mil 10 sqft material.

**Q: Notice any smell or odor?**
A: No smell or odor other than the initial opening of the package, I did however allow a day for it to dissipate before installing (has been installed for 30+ days in FL sun). Use caution when installing as mix will come out the edges & stick to roller. Use metal tape to seal edges.

**Q: does the entire floor needs to covered for this to be effective**
A: It deadens vibration in the panel. It doesn't block noise.it works like putting your finger on a bells to stop the ringing. The bell can still make noise when it is hit. Just just make one "thunk" instead of resonating for while. You really only need to cover 25% of a flat surface to get a good effect. Bends are much stronger than flat surfaces. It's isn't as pretty as a fully covered surface but it is much cheaper and just as effective. I did it to my 2010 370z which are very loud due to a lack of deadening from the factory for weight purposes. I covered 25% of all the flat surfaces and it was a much more pleasant interior. Once panels are back on nobody can tell anyway.

**Q: what is the foil thickness of this product?**
A: I measured it. The foil itself is .006 thick, but it's bonded tightly to the actual sound deadening "mastic", so it's a moot point. No way to separate the two components without destroying both. To reiterate: this is a one part product and the foil face and mastic are NOT designed to be separated.
