Some holes seem to be draining slower than others. Is this a problem?

We designed the Water Tank on the OXO Good Grips Pour Over Coffee Maker to have a very precise flow rate through the use of different sized holes. As the pressure in the tank decreases, certain holes stop flowing while others continue to drain. This balance allows our Pour Over Coffee Maker to achieve the ideal brew time for a well-balanced extraction and, ultimately, a great cup of coffee! Enjoy! OXO

How can i stop the plastic taste? i've washed it repeatedly. is it because of the plastic melting? i've only used stainless steel before now.

I don't worry. Water boils at 212 deg.F. According to a chart from a plastics company PVC has the lowest melting point at 320 deg. F. The melting point of the material this product is made from is much higher. On the order of 500 deg F

Will the size 2 paper filters give me 12 oz of coffee with one fill up?

I use this every morning and so far have not been disappointed. The size 2 paper filter has given me a very close 12 oz of coffee. I think some of the fluid “loss” is due to the water being soaked into the coffee grounds. I measured 12oz of plain water in a coffee cup I usually used and found maybe less than an ounce was removed. I have to say the coffee ends up tasting just right to me. This dropper system is highly recommended by me.
