5 Liter Musician's Air Bag

I read the other review here and had to write one of my own. I've owned this breathing bag for over a year now and I think it's fantastic. Mine did not come with a weird coating, but I did get it from another dealer, so maybe it's a storage issue with this dealer. Mine also came in a plastic ziploc bag. This thing has helped me control my breathing so much that I would gladly spend a week washing a coating off if it did come that way. And it's rubber, so it's going to smell. I made a homemade version with materials I bought locally and they smelled so much worse than my actual breathing bag. Mine doesn't smell much at all, just a little like rubber. But.... it's rubber, so... I am a flute player and can now successfully play the excerpt from Leonore with just two weeks of working with this and I was nowhere close before. I can also play the Debussy with only the tiny breath at the end of the phrase now. I had to take both optional breaths before working with this product. If I keep it up, who knows? Maybe I'll make the whole excerpt! Ha! I actually got on here to see if amazon carried it (it's half as much as I paid for mine with another vendor). I am getting a link to send a link to my students to purchase one.

I gave it 1 star because you have to give it at least one, but this breathing bag arrived with a greasy coating all over it, that also smelled of some kind of chemical. Even after washing it, it still smelled so I threw it away. Unfortunately a student of mine also bought the same bag, and hers was similarly coated with a greasy substance that smelled bad. I don't know where the bags are being manufactured, but don't buy one of these!

The breathing bag works surprisingly well!
