Expected this to smell and taste like hops. Unfortunately, whatever strain of hops they used was incredibly foul. I will just use fresh or frozen hops in the future.

This stuff tastes and smells horrible but makes me sleep so deeply. I haven’t slept this good in years. Not to mention it calms my restless legs. I would 100% recommend. The taste and smell though…lol

NOTE: I see this review was hidden by a "sensitivity filter." In the hope of helping others who may be looking for a substitute for their favorite hop-based cold beverage, I have edited the review to eliminate any mention of the beverage's name. I was not aware that this beverage was inappropriate to discuss, since I see it on the shelves in family-friendly places in my very conservative home town. Maybe there is some other problem with my review. Anyway, here goes. My husband and I joke about inventing a dehydrated brew to carry on our wilderness backpacking trips. I bought this extract and Alka-Seltzer Gold, hoping to come up with a recipe that would combine the fizz, the hop flavor, and a cup of spring water into an acceptable beverage. I tried several combinations of water, Alka-Seltzer and hops. Finally one effort produced something that didn't leave me wanting to rinse my mouth, but it wasn't good enough to finish the glass. No way would I carry the extra few ounces to drink it. When added to a cup of herbal tea, this adds a relaxing quality and the bitter flavor is not unpleasant. For now I'll enjoy it that way, until I find a portable lightweight solution to the need for carbonation. Suggestions, anyone?

I gave up drinking 9 months ago but missed having a beer. There are some good NA choices but they are overpriced and I’d like to stay out of any liquor store. I tried a dropper full of this in 24 ounces and then carbonated it and was very impressed. I tried another brand that was much cheaper but it smelled like gym socks soaked in vinegar. This is worth the price.

I have tried a variety of herbal tinctures to help me sleep, including valerian, California poppy, skullcap,l and lemon balm. All of them helped somewhat, but a few made me groggy the next day, or didn’t seem to help enough. I have been using this hops tincture for about a month, maybe a bit more, and I am actually really impressed with it. Much less sleeplessness and I can generally go back to sleep easier. I use about 10 drops, rather than the recommended dropperfull. I sometimes combine with California poppy, and have been happy with the results. The taste is very strong and quite bitter, I add to a small amount of water and drink quick. Highly recommended, and Herb Pharm is my favorite brand for tinctures.
