Fantastic product, very fine results.

Great product.

I notice that some reviews were 1 star. But for my side, it arrived brand new. Other says that it was used, or glued, for me the semi liquid I notice is a silicone grease, it is applied during production to lubricate between the parts that rubs each other like gears or bushings and shafts, I assume it is food grade, no need to remove except the excess or smear. For the those that says its broken or chipped off like in the picture of the blades for the ice crusher and chopper for the bowl, the depression is designed, I tried to investigate with my old MQ3 series 700w which has a ring shape, and it doesn't fit . I think the purposes of these depressions are to reduce friction by reducing the surface area in contact with the bowl, another is to dislodge the food in those friction prone area and for easier cleaning and insertion. I think this was thoughtfully designed. As for the lock or interlock, yes its annoying but it is 1200W handheld mixer, we have to be mindful that it is a powerful device, anything that might catch such as headphone cord or hair or someone might fall or something might touch causing accidental activation can lead to serious injury, I advice to use both hands when possible, the another warning blades are very sharp too. Moreover, I have a 200W 2-speed braun hand mixer, it does not need this interlock, yes you can operate single handedly and light, which is convenient but under power. Prior to buying this we should have consider our intentions, and the priority is safety first, just my thought. happy shopping.

This is my fourth or maybe fifth Braun stick blender, but the first time I've gone for an upmarket model. This is a solidly built piece of equipment, with a very powerful motor giving a really effective blending action. The downside of the power is the weight, although I have had less powerful blenders that have been as heavy. There are some nice touches to the design - the stainless steel shaft of the blender means than it won't get stained by spices etc, like some plastic ones. The blade moves up and down with a spring action which helps with thorough blending, and the power can be controlled by how strongly you squeeze the trigger, as well as being able to be set before starting. This model comes with a good set of accessories - balloon whisk and gear head, a beaker for blending in, and a chopper with a couple of blades, one for ice. The only thing I don't like about it is the safety lock, which is the first one on a blender I've had, and which engages too quickly in my opinion (if you pause slightly too long, for example). Otherwise a nice bit of kit. Not too expensive for its capabilites, either, unlike some kitchen equipment brands.

This one was a gift for my s-i-l; it's the fourth one I've bought in three different countries, and I'd used other Braun hand blenders before that and preferred them to multiple other brands I've tried. It's fast, powerful, and the main "wand" can be used straight in the cooking pot/smoothie cup/dressing jar/homemade hummus pot, saving so much washing up and mess. The variable speed is awesome, so much better than multiple power buttons. The whisk is powerful, and the mini chopper is big enough to be useful. The one thing it doesn't do is grind seeds/coffee (the one I bought in another country had an extra little grinder for that), but we have a coffee grinder so not a big deal. Some people have a little difficulty with the safety control that prevents accidental powering on, the fact that it's a two-step (press down the safety button and hold the trigger) process. I've never had a problem with it though, and have usually been able to show them how to use it fairly readily.

love this set. out with the million gadgets and in with one that does it all

It works well at blending etc., but I’m not a child, and don’t appreciate the safety switch to get the thing working - it’s unintuitive and not easy to use.
