I bought this at a shoe repair store (for $8.99) and it's called Boot & Shoe Leather Lotion, not Care. It's very watery, translucent, with whitfleck

The product I use is also called "Boot & Shoe Leather Lotion." The label seems to be identical to the photo (except for the "Care" part). When my previous order arrived, it was also very watery. Having used the product for years, I knew that was not normal, so called the company. The representative told me to refrigerate the lotion because it would always be watery if warm enough. I now store my Leather Lotion in the refrigerator all year, and that works beautifully. Hope that helps.

Can this product be used on alligator and caiman boots?

Not sure about those two types of skins but I did use on a pair of snake skin shoes and had no color change but my shoes were already a dark color. My shoes do not look dried out now, they look good.

Does it clean well? I have vintage handbags, some look like they were never cleaned. Cadillac sells a cleaner as well, but wonder if its too harsh?

Hi. I bought it exclusively to clean my Vintage Louis Vuitton purses. It does a good job. This one not only cleans but conditions the vachetta and canvas. Also protects them from water stains. My purses came out looking great
