can these ceramic knives be sharpened?

Your question is welcomed.You don't need to sharp these ceramic knives ,they will hold the sharpness all over the time。 PS:Don't try to use the regular sharpener Only if it says it is made especially for ceramic knives.

Are they Dishwasher safe?

Love the knives. They stay sharp and I love the size. I'd love them even more if they were, but, no, they are not dishwasher safe. Also, be careful not to pry anything with them, they may snap and break.

Are these made from zirconia, or some other type of ceramic?

I can’t say for sure what type of ceramic, but they are brittle and chip pretty easily. I’m not happy with them. You get what you pay for. Look elsewhere if you want ceramic knives.
