No you will want to find something else. This will not work for sewing this onto anything. Putting on a wall or back of a door is fine.

Has anybody used it to wrap pvc water pipes to reduce the dounds

Tried to cover pipe in wall but too thick to fit and cover with dry wall.

Can i use this in a hvac room that gets warm because of the heat or do i have to worry about it bursting into flames?

My experience using wrapping a noisy refrigerator compressor tightly did not result in flames. Rather than replace the unit the Comp. which seemed noisy probably got a bit hotter. Still intact 3 years later

I'm buying this to soundproof a window. What side should I put closest to the window itself - the eggshell or the flat surface?

If you want to reduce the sound transmission coming into the room, put the "eggshell" toward the window. If you want to reduce the sound transmitted through the window to the outside, put the "eggshell" toward the interior of the room. Keep in mind, this will help reduce some mid to high range sound, but lower range sounds will not be affected noticeably. So, it won't "soundproof" a window, but it should reduce things like street noise.
