Does this one have a shiny, slick barrel? Or is it the dull chrome?

Kind of in between, not real shiny but not the real dull either. It is a great iron and has a great clamp so my fine hair does not slip out. Love the different heat settings and the quick heat button as well.

What temperatures are the settings? Example setting 5 is what temperature?

I don’t know. The directions don’t specify what temperature. I have hard to curl hair. I usually use 17 to 19. I have never used numbers higher than that. It gets very hot.

What is the coolest temp setting?

I don’t know which model you are looking at BUT, I have 2. On one, the temperature control has 1 to 25 adjustment in 1 digit steps. The other has 1 to 30. Both are good units.

Worth the price- American plug

Still getting used to these. Pros- holds hair well, good size barrel for vintage hair, heats up quickly, good price. Comfortable to hold and light. Cons- wish was slightly hotter, American plug socket so had to buy adapter.

Not a 3 pin plug

This is a really good curling tong. Specially ordered because it has an auto shut off feature. Wish I'd known it only had a US 2 prong plug but ordered an adaptor afterwards & able to use it without any problems.
