Plugged it up, but it wouldn't turn on. We decided it was a good time for a break, gave it about 10 mins plugged up, and then went back and used it on low setting and it lasted to end of the job. The tripod setup seems a bit weak, but it does seem to work. We were up under a house, so haven't used it on the tripod, just installed and checked it out. It will work as advertised. I would advise buying this to my friends, as I'm happy with my purchase. I took the one star just over the light not working JUST from being plugged in (but it will if you charge it a bit like I said earlier), and as far as the tripod goes, like I said, it does hold the light up and lets you adjust it how you like, the attachment point just seems like a weak spot, but I have not had problems. I left it sitting in my den on the tripod for a few days just to see, and it seems to work find. LED lighting is the wave of the future, and I guess everything being battery powered is also a new wave. This product puts the two together as well as anything else I've seen around, but I'm sure these things will quickly get better as consumers use and work the kinks out, and help companies decide where to work a bit harder and where they hit the nail on the head. They are pretty sturdy as my kids have dropped one and it survived. I bought these to line up a small area for soccer practice for U6 and U8 teams. It's not a lot of light you said two in my driveway in my backyard to light up for working on the vehicles. They are lightweight I'm easy to set up.What I don't like:I wish there was a 3-way switch in an external power supply to run the lights solely off of Power instead of having to run them on low with the adapter plugged in because I don't always need the battery power and sometimes would like a longer used time.I also don't like how much the prices fluctuated. I bought to last October and the price that's on them now is $50 cheaper. To me that's a little crazy that it changes that much. Wish it had a better power cord than the cheesy one that comes with it, and it does not even last 2 hrs on high with a full charge. The charger is a 9v with a puny cord and if the battery is dead you can only have it on low with it plugged in because it uses power faster than it can get it on high.
