And being as cheapskate, which I think is a virtue for SAHM, I was attracted to this Veran Kitchen Utensils Set. It has not just a frying turner but also comes with 5 other cooking tools on a swivel stand. It also has attractive colors which can help brighten up my kitchen! I never know I can like it so much. Not just the frying turner, but all of tools!Let’s talk about the swivel stand first. When I first removed from the nice packaging box, my 7-year-old boy immediately took from me and did an unofficial reliability test for me. He kept turning the swivel and watched the cooking tools swing outwards like some carnival rides. But I must admit that all the tools survived. Nothing is broken and the swivel is very smooth and stable. And while chasing the boy, he ended dropping the entire set on the floor! Once again, the set survived!Finally, I got to test it out myself. Was cooking pork chop for the evening. The handle is a little heavy which I like. Feels more stable for me. I was using the slotted turner and it is steady enough to turn over my meat without getting too soft. While I was frying the meat, my 2 kids were fighting in the living room. So, I left the turner on the frying pan to settle them. When I rushed back, the turner is still good! It did not melt. That is a good surprise because many plastic utensils do melt/deform when left on heat. Of course, we all know that we are not supposed to leave the utensils on the frying pan, but in real life, we do it once in a while due to unforeseen circumstances right?Since the set is sitting pretty on my kitchen table top, I have been using every tool from there instead of taking out my old ones from the drawer. It is so convenient. After use, just hang it back to dry. My kids love the colors as well. They will ask me what I need when I cook and I will tell them the color of the handle, then they will fetch it for me. :-) The colors are also vibrant enough for me to use as serving utensils as well!Overall, I am very happy with this set of kitchen set. It's compacts and colorful but not overly colorful. The only reason i'm not giving this 5 stars is because it says the brand name on each utensil.
