STAR BRITE Teak Cleaner & Brightener, Restore Weathered Wood, 128 OZ (094900)

This worked amazing! My set is 8 years old, oiled every year (sometimes twice) but I never realized I should be CLEANING the wood! I used the 2-in-one twice with a scrubber. It took some elbow grease for sure but the effects for immediate. I let them dry overnight and then used the oil to protect. They turned out really nice. I will continue to buy. I took before and after pictures. I wish I would have started using the cleaner every spring years ago! I do out them away for winter as we are in PA.

This stuff works. Was worth the cost given what it was able to do. I had recently refinished a teak table but was not satisfied with the reds coming through with the oil I used (table looked too orange). Considering I used multiple coats of the oil after sanding, I was really concerned it was not going to be easy to get back to a good re-starting point. This product worked quickly and I was able to get the results I wanted (key was to let it soak, brush, rinse, re apply, brush, rinse, repeat. Used the full bottle but it worked. This is now my go-to for teak cleaning.

I've used this one gallon for 2 years and still have enough to clean my teak swing again. This is a great product and it works as it should. Application and rinsing is easy. So glad I found this product. The pictures show the "dirty" before picture and the gray looking picture is the after cleaning with the dark portion having the teak oil applied. I believe this to be a good value.

I work at a park with several teak benches and some were very much in need of a good sprucing up. I had tried a dish soap and vinegar solution, but it wasn't getting the job done. This product arrived quickly and did a good job of cleaning the benches. There was still a LOT of scrubbing involved though. This bottle was enough to clean two 5-foot benches. I've ordered a gallon each of the separate products (rather than this 2-in-1 combo) to see how it works in comparison. On a side note, beware that this product is caustic and can irritate your skin. I used household gloves so my hands are fine. But at one point I was tired of stooping to scrub the bench seats so I knelt on the grass. After a few minutes I realized that the product had dripped and been rinsed onto the grass where I was kneeling and my knees started stinging. It didn't last very long and I was fine by the end of the day.

I used this on outdoor teak chairs that had years of gray oxidation embedded in the grain. I initially tried sanding alone, and while it lightened the surface, the gray streaking in the pores and cracks remained. This product removed oxidation that sanding simply could not reach. My process was: rinse the wood, scrub lightly with the grain, rinse again, apply the cleaner/brightener, let it dwell for a few minutes, scrub, then rinse thoroughly. The difference was immediate and dramatic. The cleaned pieces were uniform in color and ready to oil, while the sanded-only pieces still looked streaky by comparison. A few tips for best results: • Let the product sit 2–4 minutes before scrubbing, do not let it dry • Rinse very thoroughly, especially joints and slat gaps • Allow at least 24 hours of drying before oiling After oiling, the cleaned teak absorbed evenly and looked like new. This saved a significant amount of sanding time and produced a much better finish. Highly recommended for teak furniture that is weathered or uneven. Sanding alone is not enough.

Reasonably good cleaner but I don’t see much brightening. Tried two times and scrubbed pretty thoroughly.

This product works as advertized. It does an excellent job of removing grit and grime with a little scrubbing and it brightens the wood back to bare wood basis. It does not smooth or mask rough areas, which should be sanded back to bare, smooth wood before applying the sealant coat but it works extremely well in cleaning and brightening the teak.

I loved how it worked, be sure to use a proper glove 🧤 it’s very harsh on skin… wash all surface areas including the grounds! Used this on my CANVAS teak table restored the life back into it! Be sure to use step 3 to finished the entire project nicely as this step 1/2 tends to bleach wood (see last photo). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Will update if it don’t cure properly!

I used it on my indoor teak kitchen table and the chairs. The solution worked pretty good and the dirt case off after just a few rubs with a scab sponge. make sure you can rinse the furniture well after cleaning it with the solution. Prepares well for applying oils. (I used Danish oil)
