Bonide Captain Jack's Mite-X for Houseplants, 12 oz Ready-to-Use Spray for Insect Control

Love it for thrips and spider mites. Use as directed or more frequently and it’ll work. I recommend getting the larger bottle because my finger feels like it’s going to fall off after spraying this one on only one plant but the substance itself is great. I don’t mind the smell unlike others. I’m very sensitive to scents (like candles and perfume) and this doesn’t bother me at all because it’s a natural scent. A bit garlicky and clove. I use it in a confined space and the smell goes away pretty fast. I’m never concerned about toxicity.

Good product

I bought this product after reading several reviews from plant websites. I have quite a collection of indoor plants and every now and then I will have an outbreak of thrips. This product was easy to use and effective with several treatments. I also use other products that are soil-based to keep pests away. But this product did not damage delicate flowers or leaves when applied.

• SCENT: After using the product myself, I gather people complain about the smell NOT because it smells bad, but because it smells strong. It smells like spices, almost like a cinnamon room spray. If you don't appreciate strong aromas, spray your plant outside or in a well-ventilated area, and you should be fine. • EFFECTIVENESS: I used this for spider mites. Because they are so tiny and reproduce so quickly, I took my plant outside, fogged it, and then wet paper towels with this stuff, wiping down every individual leaf. I followed up by spraying the plant every day or so with water, and the mites have not returned!

the product didn't get rid of the spider mites, and the sprayer was defective. I had to actually pour the liquid onto the leaves. I complained to the company, and they sent me another sprayer that was too big. I'll not buy this product again.

I bought this because I heard it was a good brand for a more natural miticide. This smells like cloves which isn't bad, but it doesn't work for spider mites AT ALL. I have used this multiple times on all my plants, and it does absolutely nothing. I've sprayed it on the front and back of leaves and in the soil, and it doesn't work. Such a frustrating disappointment. Don't waste your time or money. I'd give it 0 stars if I could
