Okay. Made my bread rise.

I’ve used Red Star dry yeast before, but most of the local supermarkets now carry only the other major brand of dry yeast. And, during the pandemic, all of the stores have been selling out of yeast regularly. So, I recently ordered two strips of Red Star Quick Rise Instant Yeast from this seller on Amazon, and used them to bake a couple of traditional family recipes of Italian and Slovak Easter breads, both of which contain large quantities of cheese, and do not always rise as hoped for. As I expected, this Red Star yeast worked great, and both breads rose just fine. One feature of Red Star dry yeasts that I’ve always appreciated is that the yeast does NOT stick to the packets, unlike that of the other major name brand. When I empty a packet of Red Star into a recipe, I know that I am getting the full measure of yeast, not 80% or 90%. If you have never used Red Star before, I suggest that you give it a try.

It's yeast. It rose. It caused my bread to rise. It did what it was created to do. I didn't have to call Scotland Yard to investigate a suspicious case of bad rising activity. I would use again when the call of the hour induces us to rise and ... make bread.

Makes great pizza dough! I really love this brand and will continue to buy it.

Good, fresh yeast, ideal for bread machine use. I like to use this when I'm in a hurry; saves a bit of measuring time. Just be sure to keep it FAR away from any salt in your recipe (salt kills yeast & your bread won't properly rise). If you use a bread machine, you also want to be sure to not let any liquids (or even butter) touch the yeast, or you'll impede the rise. This also works GREAT for homemade cinnamon rolls. I ordered mine through Amazon's Prime Pantry service & the yeast was very fresh & performed well. A winner!
