Great for My Cats (Yes, Cats)
I used to sell Avon many, many years ago and Skin-So-Soft was always a good seller. Why? Because it can do many things! The usual uses are as a bath oil or to run on your skin after a shower. But it's also good for helping to keep away bugs. Not clouds of mosquitoes, but for keeping away the occasional bite it's wonderful (and smells nice too). Which brings me to my cats. I have one cat that seems to suffer from flea bites more than any others -- they seem to gravitate to him. He also has somewhat dry skin. We've discovered that if we mix the SSS with water (roughly 1 part SSS to 4 parts water), we can rub it into his coat and onto his skin. The fleas stay away more, and his skin is much softer. And while he isn't exactly thrilled with getting "softened", I can tell he feels so much better. We only give him this treatment once a month or so. I realize this isn't exactly a usual use for SSS, but it works. But if you decide to try it on your cat or dog, you do it at your own risk. While it's fine on our cats, it may not suite yours. Use your best judgement.

Ok. It's a true mosquitoe repellent
I bought this after I read in other reviews that this oil has been used to repell mosquitoes. Let me tell you. When I wear it, I get maybe 1 bite vs the 5 I used to get. This is also a life saver for my son who's bites get swollen. I mean, who doesn't love a moisturizing oil that happens to repell mosquitoes all at once?

I have forgotten
The Versatility and various uses of skin so soft from taming frizzy hair on rainy days to smoothing legs arms and feet to preventing fleas on the dog. I am back to using skin so soft for many things and it smells good too

Still the Same Scent, Still Works After All these years.
I've been using this for more years than I can remember as a temporary, non-irritating, okay-smelling but sort of greasy mosquito repellant. It works, a little goes a long way and it doesn't lose much effectiveness in the bottle if stored properly. It does only last about 30 minutes to repel mosquitos, enough for a walk in the evening along a lake or beach (works against sand fleas too). I have a miniature bottle that I refill and carry in my pocket. The bottle was a sample from a long, long ago Avon Lady. I don't even know if there are Avon Ladies any more. They used to give away these tiny lipstick samples that I loved. Back to the present. This is a redesigned bottle, clear instead of translucent, which is why I suggest it be kept in a dark cabinet and not out on the counter. I've never used it as a bath oil, and frankly, I think bath oils are just ways to make the tub need cleaning more often. I've always worried that Avon would mess up this exceptional product by changing the formula and I think they have from time to time. Make sure you get the original if you want it for mosquitos. I can't stand products with DEET and other vile smelling, irritating, probably poisonous (only speculating) formulae for insects. I stick with this one. If you wonder why Avon doesn't advertise this feature, it's probably because it would have to go through a bunch of testing and get FDA approval. Just market it as a bath oil and let word of mouth keep the brand going. Point off for inconvenience of having to reapply and greasiness, Although the oil may well be beneficial for dry skin. Another thing is my dog hates when I put it on her to go to the park. (But dogs generally hate to smell good.) Heart worm in dogs is carried by mosquitos as are other diseases. I give mine a HW preventive, but just like to keep her from being bitten.

KEEPS BUGS OFF YOU
I buy it for the bug factor. Great for women because it does have a feminine smell. There is not all those bad chemicals and horrible smell like Off Bug Spray. If you go on vacation where there are nats, mosquitoes or bitting insects buy it before you go.

As great as it was 20 years ago!
I put it in a sprayer with water. It goes a lonnng way and lasts forever. We use it on our skin to keep bugs away and soak up some sun every summer. My previous bottle this size is dated 1991 and we just now had to replace it!!! Mix 1/2 & 1/2 water & SSS & yours will last for years too!
