Great old school merrells
Had them in the past and couldn't find them on the high street. Really pleased I found them on Amazon. Great pair of shoes that feel so comfortable.

What actually are these?
I know, stupid title. I generally like Merrell slip-ons. I got my first set of clogs when I went to college a couple decades ago, and I've had a couple different pairs, plus several pairs of the Moab style over the years. These, though, don't really fit any particular pattern. Build quality seems nice. Color matches the photo, the stitches aren't fraying and the sole has a good tread. The fit is accurate (mostly, see below) and the toe box is roomy for my 13 almost-wide-but-not-quite feet. The sole is forgiving and squishes nicely. I do have an issue with the cuff around the top, though. I must have one foot slightly bigger, because my right foot can't seem to slip in without folding over the material at the ankle. Since they're slip-on, there's only so much I can do to loosen the laces to make room and it's not enough. The ankle area is shaped with two points or bumps on either side of the tendon, and when the material folds over the points are now poking into my heel. In addition, I'm not sure what sort of filling is inside there, but I actually need to take the shoe off and pry the inner material back up. It's like it gets pressed down and stuck. Minor gripes: they're not super breathable. Socks help that but make the folding ankle thing worse. Barefoot is fairly comfy at first, but the feet get sweaty quick and then when I pull my feet out the insole is stuck to my foot and gets pulled up/out. They're also a bit noisy. I haven't put a lot of miles on them yet but every step makes a squishy/rubby noise. Neutral comment: they don't feel like there's a lot of stability to the outsole. That could be either good or bad depending on the person and use, but to me the sole feels narrow and wants to rock side-to-side. So in sum, they're stretchy like water socks but not breathable, they're solid like hikers but not stable, and they're convenient like clogs but can't hold their shape. I'm sure they'll last and I'll wear them around, but I'm really just confused on the intended use.

Wet feet after 4 months
Very comfortable hiking shoe! My only complaint is that after less than 5 months they are no longer waterproof. I will probably look to a different brand next time.
