Carburetor Repair Kits for Briggs & Stratton 796184 Master Overhaul Nikki Carbs

Ok I'm finally reviewing this product. Get this item and stock up, Master Rebuild Kit for Briggs and John Deere carbs.The first one I recieved was damaged, and missing some parts. But Amazon, and the seller immediately took charge and fixed it asap. Amazon refunded me my money immediately and the seller send me a new product free of charge, that's satisfaction there. I can't say enough good things about Amazon and this seller. Most of these parts are oem and work perfect. But keep your old adjuster But hey this is a master rebuild kit, I got it to rebuild the carb on my John Deere La105. You go to John Deere or Briggs you pay $ 50 bucks and want get all this, I'm a master OPE Repair Tech. It's fits several different carbs. Please give Amazon and this seller a try before you pay or buy anywhere else, it's a great product. They package it great also. This Nikki Carb kit was exactly what was needed to fix the carb issue on this Riding Mower that was given away. The carb fuel bypassed straight into the motor and hydro locked it up. A simple thing like an Oring can create and very bad day when needed to mow the yard.

The gaskets, fuel float, fuel shutoff valve and the o-rings were a good fit but the replacement plastic body piece did not fit very well with this Nikki carberator. It was impossible to get the metering jet to fit in the bottom of the plastic fuel tube and the metal fuel tube on the carburator did not slide down in the plastic body piece without binding. There was a concern that forcing it might cause the plastic body to crack. I just reused the existing plastic body which was in good shape and everything else fit well. The carburator now works as good as new now.

I overhauled the carb on my B & S, 21 H.P. , motor for lawn tractor. This kit had all the parts + extras for different mdl carbs. Good quality o-rings & seals, plastic parts were deburred & smooth edged. Carb worked great. Lawn tractor up and running fine. I would recommend this kit for value and quality.

I’m going to be fair and give it 3 stars as it did fix my issue. I had a broken choke return spring and the mower would just stay choked. After doing some research I found it near impossible to get the OEM spring without paying as much in shipping as the spring cost. Also, I knew after 14 years of use, once I broke the gaskets loose to get inside, those would need to be replaced. A genuine rebuild kit with all the gaskets was expensive. I give this a shot since it appeared to have all I needed. I figured since I had all of these “new parts” I would just replace everything. I tried the new needle and plastic seat assembly. It was so sloppily made that you could move the float up and down and the needle didn’t move. Also, the pin that holds the float on was so tight I was afraid it would restrict the float (even if the needle hadn’t been sloppy) so I ditched that to go back to the original setup. I tried the new jet. Visual inspection it appeared the hole was smaller. It was verified when I cranked and it spit and sputtered. I went back to the original jet and all was well. Out of this kit I ended up using just what I needed: orings, gaskets, and choke spring. Rest I chunked in the garbage. I know it seems I’m complaining even though it solved my issues. I just felt as a “master rebuild” kit it fell short in several areas. Had it have been these parts just didn’t fit my carb, I might understand. The ones I’m complaining about were just poorly made.

These parts are good for reasonable repair at a good price. My son reports that the plastic float and other plastic parts over time are softened and perhaps partially dissolved by gasoline (which means those particles of plastic flow with the gas). For long term restoration, getting the original brass parts is probably worth the investment - if they are available. If they are no longer available, note the installation date of the plastic parts in your manual or on machine, use good gas, never leave gas in machine season end (run until dry), and check carb interior in a year or two for deterioration or particle accumulation especially if you notice rough running or adjustment problems. .

Worst product I have ever purchased. Several things. Emulsion tube housing too small. Fuel inlet gasket wrong size. Needle seat too small. Base gasket cut ragged. Float pin very tight. Would NOT recommend. Bought same kit last year and had zero problems. Same carb and now wasted money. Purchasing replacement Walbro style carb from different vendor.

I had initially bought and installed a kit off ebay, but it didn't include the small o-ring used on the main jet. This kit includes that, and it is a higher quality kit as well. The gaskets actually fit. My Snapper was running perfectly after this kit was installed.

Everything was in the kit except for the fuel inlet O ring. Very disappointed that that one Oring was not in the kit I had to buy carburetor gasket from a small en shop in order to get the O ring

I have purchased the package based on description and list of items in the picture however , the packed did NOT include one main item , picture attached, which is the rubber that is placed between the 2 parts of the carburetor

Kit was complete and usable except the main jet was way too lean and my engine would only run on full choke. Had to drill the main jet from .025" to .040" for my engine to run properly.

Great product maybe an install manual or parts guide would be a bit helpful for the beginners but great product
