Stri-Dex Med Pads Size, 90 Count

I can't say enough good things about these alcohol-free Stridex pads. I started incorporating them into my nightly skincare routine a few months ago and within a month after starting to use them I was completely free of acne for the first time since I first started getting acne as a teenager. The packaging says you can use them up to twice a day, but I only use them once per day and have still gotten great results. Since my skin cleared up initially I've only had one or two small blemishes when it's getting close to that time of the month and even those go away within a day or two as long as I keep up with my skincare routine. They're very affordable considering there are 90 pads in the container, and I often cut them in half to stretch them even further since half of one is enough to give my face good coverage. I haven't found them to be irritating or drying to my sensitive skin, but I do use several moisturizing products, including essence, a sheet mask, a thicker moisturizer and a sleeping mask, after these before I go to bed for the night. After I wash my face, I use my toner and then apply these pads. I let the medication sit on my face for 20 to 30 minutes before following up with the rest of my products, and I think that's made a big difference in getting me better results than I've had when trying other salicylic acid products in the past. This is my holy grail BHA product, so I'll be buying these for a long time to come.

I tried these pads based on multiple reviews from /r/SkincareAddiction. They work great! I didn't feel the tingly sensation (from the acid) that some feel, but I do feel my face tightening as the pad liquid dries. I would recommend inverting once or twice prior to using the pads so the pads on the top get soaked with the acid solution before you apply it to your face. I did have an acne breakout the first week I was using it, but one week later, my acne has mostly gone away. Parts of my skin feel softer, others are unchanged--I have some closed commodones along my jawline or something that the Stridex couldn't quite get rid of. I will say, however, that my skin is more sensitive to physical brushing (that I do in the shower), which indicates to me that my dead skin cells are indeed being sloughed off.

I'm in my mid-late 20s and fight a never-ending battle against pimples on my nose and chin, which are my oily zones. My chin is the worst. At any point in time, I have a series of small bumps on my chin. Fortunately, they can't be seen unless you were to use a magnifying glass, but they can be felt when running a finger against my chin because they're lurking just under the surface of my skin. At least twice a month, one of those bumps will grow to become one of those large, dome-shaped, slightly painful zits that take forever to go away and leaves a dark mark when it finally does. That was before I tried Stridex. I have to admit that these do not completely prevent pimples (for me). What they do is prevent most of them from emerging (I get significantly fewer pimples), keep those that do emerge at a reasonable size (they no longer become large), and reduce the life of pimples (they are gone within a couple of days when Stridex is applied as a spot treatment). I actually have not had a real pimple on my nose since starting this product. (I'll sometimes get the red spots which indicate that a pimple is ready to surface, but none have actually emerged.) I've also noticed that any pimples that I do get on my chin do not leave marks. I use this product twice a day after washing and toning. I use it on my entire face in the morning and on trouble areas only - my chin, nose, and on pimples - at night. I find that using it on my entire face twice a day is too drying and causes flaking. I also make it a point to go over an area only once, which lessens the drying effect. Applying too much product by continuously rubbing the pad in the same area will cause your face to feel extremely dry. After giving it about 20 minutes to work, I apply my moisturizer as usual. Another note: Because I'm cheap and also because I simply don't need an entire pad, I cut my pads in half. I was skeptical about trying this product, as I'd heard that it could be harsh and drying, but I now consider it to be an indispensable part of my skin care regimen when used consistently and in moderation.

Good on skin , doesn't pill off . No alcohol- it's good ! But acne still there .. 😏

I'm 29 and while the severe acne I experienced in my childhood and teen years is gone, I still deal with adult acne, oily skin, and easily clogged pores. These cleared up my skin quite a bit and really help keep my pores clean and clear. I use them once a day probably 5-6 days a week, in the morning or evening depending on what I feel like. They don't dry me out, they just exfoliate my skin and leave it smooth. It actually seems like my skin is much less oily since I started using these. I've got very sensitive skin and I'm happy to report I experience no irritation from these pads. As a side note, I have also used these on my dog's chin when he was getting doggy acne (at the recommendation of my vet,of course) and they really helped. That may sound petty but the breakouts my dog was getting were large and would end up bleeding anytime he played or bumped his face on something so it was really problematic. Might be worth discussing with your vet if your dog breaks out like mine does sometimes and nothing else has helped.

UPDATE 07/02/2019: So, I just wanted to give an update to those still reading this, that I actually saw a dermatologist who determined that my cystic acne and bacne is actually due to my hormone levels. He recommended that I go on Accutane (Don't take this prescription lightly, the side effects are a lot, and take a toll on your body, but I was able to handle them) because no amount of topicals would be able to cure it since it's due to my genetics. I'm happy to report that I am 90% acne clear, and that this product helped me clear all my topical "surface" level acne, and had no hurt or help in my cystic. For anyone still struggling after using this, I would recommend going to see a dermatologist if you can. UPDATE 09/19/2017 : Rated from 4 stars to 5 stars because I switched products to try out something to completely clear it, but I HAD to switch back to this product. Nothing worked better for my Bacne and Acne better than this. Coupling this with drinking more water throughout the day (helped me LOADS by the way), my Acne on both my face and back are almost completely clear. My routine otherwise has not changed. Pretty good product, I've been using this for 3 months and thought I'd put in a review as I'm close to finishing the pack. So I have pretty severe bacne as well as acne on the chin only. Routine: I use one pad first for my chin area, then apply the rest to my back every night before going to bed. Let it dry for about 30 seconds to a minute, then I apply First Aid Beauty moisturizer to combat the dryness the pads leave behind. In the first 2 weeks applying every day, I noticed a significant improvement in my acne. My bacne had significantly less red, and marks previous were now very light. My jawline acne had also significantly improved with less of a minefield breakout of cystic acne on my chin. Although my acne marks are still there on my chin, and it's still red, there's been much less breakouts occuring with only one or two pimples appearing briefly and then disappearing. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it seems to stop working at this level. Has it improved both my acne spots? Absoloutley, and I'm thankful for that. However after 3 months it looks no different from how it looked at 2 months. So I need to find a different product to completely get rid of it.

Hace tiempo que tengo acné (leve) pero aún así me seguía saliendo granitos pequeños y algunos grandes en zonas como la frente y las mejillas. He probado de todo, pero sinceramente esto es lo unció que me ha servido. Tengo mil cremas pero esto hace que se vaya del todo. Primero al usarse igual notarás una reacción mala (eso me pasó) noté que me salían más y me dolían algunos, pero eso fue la primera semana y después se secaron y se fueron! Me encanta, yo me lo echo en el día y la noche. Lo único malo es el precio, es muy caro. En IHerb cuestan 4€ pero la página ya no hace envíos a España. Pero por lo demás genial!
