Liquitex Professional Gloss Heavy Gel Medium, 237ml (8-oz)

Liquitex...always excellent.

This was the first time I have ever purchased this item. I really loved how it fixed my canvas recently. After my pour painting dried, I had some cracking right in the center. This product is easy to use, and bonus-it dries clear. I applied this to my cracked center using a palette knife and smoothed it out. When it dried it was clear, and you were able to see the colors of the painting. This totally fixed my piece of art and I loved it. You could also, if you wanted, paint in another color over the cracks if you wanted to change it up. I recommend this product and will buy again. I hope this helps! :)

Liquitex offers a wide variety of mediums that can be used to create texture on cards or mixed media. You can add acrylic paint or gelato's to the medium to create your own colors. There are numerous products for collage and I prefer Liquitex Gel Medium. Gloss or matte is a choice depending on the preferred outcome, but nothing beats Liquitex for my projects. I bought this because I wanted to Mod Podge a picture onto wood for my wife. I had read several ways of doing it, most people suggested using Gel Medium for the transfer. I will say the first time I did it, I did not wait long enough and it was a disaster. It probably didn't help that I was hiding it in the cold garage so she would not see it. I wanted something that would slow my drying time and make my acrylics behave more like oil paints. …I purchased a slightly different product at first; the Liquitex Slow Dry Blending Retarder. . So if I can leave one tips its that it is better to let it dry longer than to do it really soon. For the first one I waited about 12 hours, many people said you could wait just 8. I'm not really sure how that is long enough for them. The second time I waited almost a day and a half, I did not really intend on waiting that long I just got caught up with other stuff. Anyways this time my pictures came out phenomenal. I just gave them to my wife yesterday and she loves them. You can also add color once the medium has dried. I have used this paste on a plastic stencil and the image came out very crisp, detailed. When dried the texture and design was raised fairly high and was very durable. Although I used a regular weight card stock will work, a heavier weight card stock would work better for the medium weight. Lighter weight is usually recommended for cards. I think the medium and heavier weights would be interesting on canvas. I would purchase this item again and would like to try some of the gel mediums. I would recommend this item to crafters and mixed media artists.

For some reason me and the wife started doing puzzles and needed some glue to hold them together after completion. I use high gloss mod podge glue first to glue the puzzle together on the front. Why do I go back over the Mod Podge glue with this? The Mod Podge leaves a sticky residue that finger prints show up on very easily and this gel medium prevents that to a lesser degree. Plus I like the brush stroke finish it leaves behind. I also use some good old Elmers glue on the back of the puzzle just the for extra strength and does the job very nicely. Oh and using a plane old 20 cent sponge brush does the trick in application. Happy tickering!

I love mixing this with paint and making incredible texture, it blends so smoothly and is great quality. I'm going to keep buying it!

I use this gloss in the transfer of pictures to canvas. It has worked perfectly, and I love it! I purchased the 16 oz, when smaller might have been more economical, but I plan on using all 16 oz on a number of projects! It will last me for a long while.

I have always used Liquitex products the past 15 yrs especially this and the high viscosity texture medium for artwork. I love the heavy gel medium for a gesso type look on canvas and to glaze over painted projects such as papers and glass much like a decoupage finish. ( This will NOT yellow any papers or canvases over time due to it's ph neutral which is why its a professional art grade product ) It's expensive but is a high professional quality artist product. I can't complete a decent project without Liquitex. 5 stars on this as it conforms to the art standards for safety and is NOT fumey nor sticky on hands. I am over joyed Amazon carrys this since local art stoes are usually out of stock.
