Looked at multiple auto top off systems and none of the others can be used with a jewel aquarium with a lid. they all seem to be designed to only work with open top tanks. Admittedly I had to butcher the tank attachment to make it fit, but it wasn’t too difficult using a small electric saw to cut off the extra top piece sticking up not needed..This would be the piece that would stop the lid shutting. Now it’s completely under the lid in the back slot place and out of sight. (the other option would be to butcher a slot out of the lid to make it fit) no other system on the market that I looked at had the slightest chance of working. This device is a game changer for me. I never have to top up my aquarium. I have a reservoir bin of approximately 45 L. The pump goes into this reservoir, is topped up from a hose pipe and is kept full ready for each water change, which is done by using a length of airline hose put out the window to drain the tank slowly. The pump just cuts in and out as needed and water changes can take as slow as you want without any bother which is brilliant for shrimp tanks! Keeping reservoir full ahead of time means water is always at room temperature and doesn’t take lots of power to heat. Also water condition is et cetera if needed are much better pre-mixed in the bin. If Reservoir accidentally empties completely without noticing, it’s not a problem as pump just switches off until you fill it again. With an airline control valve on the end of draining pipe you can control the flow then just set it and forget it and do other things for awhile even two or three hours :-) also great for us plant enthusiasts who are always nabbing a little bit of water here and there from the aquarium to water the plants… it just fills itself up again:-) I have to admit it does seem expensive for what it is when you look at it, however for those of us who struggle with tank maintenance, it’s a game changer and a lifesaver! for me it has been well worth the money. And as for noise level well you can’t really hear it at all. Only the actual noise of the water going in. For the perennial problem of the ever present aquarists acquisition disease, yes I would definitely buy this again.:-) oh and thanks to MD tanks for the inspiration

It’s reliable, and has been in use for more than a year, when my previous purchases of 2 devices of other brands elsewhere online would already have stopped functioning. I could never work out why those stopped working.

Tricky at first but hopefully it will settle and i'l get used to how sensitive it is, thank you

If your system has a set up to suit, use these over the optical sensor kit available. much more reliable in my experience. can't beat this one for the price.

Easy to install, works perfect, genius system. Reliable technology with floats intead of sensors. Just make shore that the water reservoir not empty so that the pump can not run dry.

Works, but unfortunately only up to 110 cm. The description says that the pump height is up to 150cm, so I assumed that my 1.1m shouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, that turned out to be an unfulfilled wish.
