This picture frame craft was for the grandmas for Mother’s Day and my 4 year old got a big kick out of placing the glass tiles and spreading the glue. We let them sit for a couple days before the grouting and had no issue with the tiles falling off. I’d say that the instructions were straightforward and all of the packaging components were sealed well, so we didn’t have any issues with dry glue or open plaster pouches like a couple of the other reviews. The plastic for the “glass” of the frame is clear. It looks cloudy in the package, but it has clingfilm on both sides that needs to be removed. In the second picture, I grouted them as that’s really a part of the project that would be easier for a much older child than 4. The one on the left, I free handed the grouting and I think that turned out much nicer than the one I had walled off on the edges with tape. I think they underestimate the amount of water that needs to be added, because the thicker the grout, the harder it was to spread and covered over many of the tiles to where upon waiting a few minutes, it was too hard to simply wipe off of the tiles and I ended up having to scrape and chip some of the grout off of the tiles. After 20+ minutes of chipping, I still don’t think it looks all that great. For the price, I’m very happy with how they turned out, but I think that if I were to do this again, I would probably buy some extra plaster of Paris just in case because it dries quickly while you’re working. Overall, I think the frames look nice and the grandmas will display pictures in them proudly and they won’t look out of place displayed with store bought frames.

Easy to do and the frame came out super cute! My daughter and I worked together and had a fun time picking out a picture for the frame!

We received this as a gift an then got it for the next birthday party. I love one activity and done gifts so we don’t have to hold on to the box/pieces after kiddo has completed the craft!

A great gift for a child who loves art

Kids loved this activity Gems are various and numerous. They come in vibrant colors and there is more than enough. Glue sticks well and the frame is solid enough. My 3 and 6 year olds (boy and girl) both had fun with this activity.

My 7 yr old grandson enjoyed making this, although i did have to help with the plaster part. Even then the plaster went from being quite runny to too thick very quickly , so beware. Excellent when finished though.
