I have a hyper-fixation with temperature. We replaced our HVAC unit a little bit over a year ago and since then I’m constantly wondering what’s the temperature in the different areas of the house. I purchased a temp gun but it was not enough— I needed to see the numbers real live, quickly. I first ordered the black model (pic 3) and placed it in the kitchen about 5 months ago, but because our house is so big, I decided to order a couple of more. One for the kids passageway (pic 1) and one for our room (pic 2). These I just installed and they are pretty accurate for 20min in service. Last pic is our thermostat, set at 72. I’m overall happy with these gadgets; they definitely meet the mark and keep my hyper fixation in check. Would recommend.

I bought the two-pack of supposedly identical devices. Right out of the box, I put in the supplied batteries, and after 15 minutes the two devices read different temperatures (75.6 and 74.8). I would expect them to be within a couple tenths of a degree at most. After 10 more minutes, they appear to be converging (74.7 and 75.4). I'll edit this if it improves more Edit: Upped to 4 stars. After some time the two devices converged on the temperature, so now I have more faith in these devices. The humidity was always within 1% of each other.

It seems to be an accurate thermometer for household use although its reading doesn't change instantaneously when moved around. It is difficult to read in low light, you have to press a button that is not very convenient.

I purchased the two pack of the ThermoPro TP53. After reading instruction and inserting batteries in both they quickly gave me readings. I waited about 5 minutes to see how close they were in Temperature and Humidity levels. The temp readings were within 1 to 2 tenths so very close. Humidity levels were not so close as one read 45% and the other 50%. Mmmm, so I looked to see if there was a way to calibrate but had no luck with that. So I pulled the batteries from the one I thought was off (with the higher reading as my furnace humidifier is set to 45%). After a few minutes they were within 2 points of each other, 45 and 47%. I did notice touching or moving them slightly will also affect the Humidity readings. One thing I did notice is it sometimes takes way longer than 10 seconds to readjust when moving to another space in the house. Not a deal breaker for me. I will continue to experiment with them in same room, basement, plant room etc. to see if they continue to read like values. For the price of these I think they are well worth it. Especially for all the info they give you. Hopefully accurate!

I just purchased the most up to date Nest thermostat and decided to compare these thermometers against the Nest (and against each other). So, I put these thermometers about 3 ft away from the Nest and left them alone for about 3 hrs. Temperature - the Nest was at 66 degrees. Number 1 thermometer at 64.4, Number 2 at 64.8. Humidity - the Nest was at 24%. Number 1 was at 31%, Number 2 at 26%. Since I'm not so interested in the humidity, these units are good enough for me. The unit is sturdy. The all time/24 hr button is wonderful for tracking purposes. Display is clear.
