Decided on this Acer SATA III as the most cost-effective brand-name SATA only option for speeding up the process with this older but still excellent machine. After cloning her hard drive data to the Acer solid state HD, installing the Acer was just a matter of opening a plastic panel, slipping out the original hard drive and plugging in the Acer - which fit perfectly. Boot up with the new SSD is now a cheap thrill, only about 15 seconds. Wife is very happy with results. Drive has performed perfectly so far.
