Bought this for my husband. After it arrived it looked so beautiful and way better than expected that I decided to put it on our coffee table for everyone to play with since they are metal solid pieces. It makes the room look so elegant too.

I was pleasantly surprised when this set came because I am always skeptical of positive reviews. I must say, however, that this is a beautiful chess set. The board and the pieces are solid and heavy! While I agree with some that say the case is a bit flimsy, in my opinion, this is not a set that should be used for travel, it’s too beautiful and too heavy. Mine adorns my dining room table and looks amazing. If I had one wish it would be that the board was just a little bit bigger, but not a deal breaker at all for me. Worth every penny.

This is a very nice chess set- pieces are polished, detailed, and have a heavier weight than comparable products. I love the design of the pieces and the board. Would highly recommend this product.

The pieces are so nice and feel like they’re high quality The photos don’t do it justice I have no idea how to play so I can’t wait to have him teach me and let me beat him It’s so beautiful. Great product

I was hesitant to spend $220 on a chess set, as I'm a beginner, but when I saw this I had to get it. Often times when I buy something from Amazon I wonder if the quality will live up to the pictures. This exceeded my expectations. It adds a level of elegance and style to my living room and makes an excellent centerpiece on my black coffee table. The pieces have a weighty, satisfying tactile feel and are a joy to play with. Even if you don't play chess this would be an excellent decorative item. The box is decent, although I wouldn't expect it to hold up to frequent travel. The flexible fabric bands that hold the board inside the top of the lid will likely someday break. I would have preferred a plain black or wooden box, but I still like the red velvet enough. In fact, I put it under the chess board and it looks pretty nice. I don't expect I'll be moving the set much anyway. This is the kind of chess set you keep in your home, passing down from generation to generation.

I just received this product and it is exactly what i was hoping for! The metal pieces and board have a protective material on the bottom to prevent damage. The chess pieces have good weight and the board is heavy and sturdy. The design looks great and I am very pleased with all aspects, except one. The case where you store the pieces is kind of flimsy. I wish they would have reinforced the indents for the chess pieces and made the material of something a little stronger. But other than that, this is a great buy! Thanks for making such a great looking chess set!
