I found that the machine had only 2 or 3 levels of resistance and the heart rate programs did not work. The company advertised, and told me prior to purchase, that the resistance levels were controlled by magnetic resistance on the steel flywheel. The company refused to respond to my complaints that the resistance levels were not working and I was forced to sue them in civil court, index number CV-031773-12/KI in the Civil Court of the City of New York, Kings County. In sworn testimony to the court Lifecore stated that the machine had a plastic flywheel, not a steel one as advertised, and this effected the performance of the machine, but that I was not entitled to a refund because I did not complain soon enough. They never made any apology for the misrepresentation, never made any effort to fix the machines nor respond to customer complaints and to yet pay the court imposed judgment. At first we had problems with the motor that controls resistance and were quite disappointed with a bike that neither of us could stand to use for more than a few minutes. But, after we spoke with the company representative, the problem was fixed in short order. We had bent one of the prongs on assembly; it was just a matter of bending it back in position and reconnecting. Now the motor works perfectly. The representative was very good, and offered several possible reasons why the motor was not working. He said to let him know if everything was connected properly and it was still not working so he could send out a replacement motor. This was never necessary, as we were able to fix the problem with his help.What I like most about the reclining bike is that is that it takes up very little room (we keep it in the study), is well built and very sturdy, easy to use with good instructions, and provides a nice personalized workout.
