Is it possible to separate the keyboard from the white stand?

No, it would've been nice if they made the "white stand" adjustable to fit your cell phone w/protective case attached.

can this keyboard be paired with a mouse so when you switch between devices the mouse switches with it as well?

I use this keyboard with Logitech MX Master 2S Wireless Mouse hooked up to two macs and a pc with dual monitors and it works seamlessly with out haven't to press buttons but by just moving the mouse off the edge of the screen and your on the other OS, keyboard and all, there is sometimes a little bit of a lag, but it's better then pushing buttons. and you can copy and paste between the two OS, I've even had a raspberryPI hooked up so it was working seamlessly between windows, mac and linux. highly recommend

Are the keys on the keyboard backlit so you can see the keys in the dark?

Unfortunately, the answer is NO. There are very few Multi-Device Bluetooth Keyboards that have that feature, as it would drain the batteries faster, even with energy-efficient LED lights.With that said, the closest thing to this keyboard that I can find with backlit keys is a competing model from Zagg, although it lacks the Numeric Keypad, so it actually competes more with the Logitech K480. How is the stroke depth compared to the k800?

I just bought the k780 and have never used the k800. That being said the k780 is shallow in comparison to the standard USB HP generic keyboard I was using. I have used a variety of keyboards over my years and can say its best comparison is to a chicklet laptop keyboard.
