A little chewy and a little spicy.

I love the original Gin Gins, but they are soft, somewhat sticky, and difficult to remove from the wrapper. These are not as soft, more tablet like, and easier to manage. The flavor is a bit stronger than the original.

These are good, although not a sweet as I would of liked. Very ginger forward, leading it to taste hot, strong, and alittle peppery, but you get use to it. It works extremely fast though, as soon as you put it in your mouth. It gets alittle gritty when you get down to the end, but dont chew it up, there are little pieces of actual ginger in it, which leads to the heat I'm sure, but tolerable for most.

The blue bag Super-Strength GinGins are my fave and I am writing this review mostly to make clear that the Super-Strength flavor is NOT like the chewy originals in the green bag. I feel that the Amazon layout is confusing and makes you think these are ALL flavors of the same basic chewy candies but they are not. Super-Strength is like a chewy soft caramel disk and is my favorite because it packs 30% ginger, much more than the 10% of the chewy ones. They are not sticky at all and will not leave your fingers sticky or stick to your teeth. The Double Strength flavor in the yellow bag is the hard candy. They have more ginger as well, 16%, but they are not my favorite simply because I expect to be able to “chew” my ginger on some level.

This is a great little product. It has a strong flavor and eating just one is really hard to do…! It can be a little bit addictive if you really like ginger. I will just add that the original gin-gins seem just as flavorful and ginger-strong. So I will probably just order the originals again next time I purchase. But there is nothing wrong at all with this product! It’s delicious! And if they are in my house I will definitely eat them! As with all gin-gin chews I’ve tried, they can be a little difficult to open. The packaging is very good but hard to get into. Not a deal breaker though! It’s worth the struggle to get to the goodies inside!

Nice flavor, dissolves slowly and a piece lasts longer than a traditional hard candy. Helpful for nausea or upset stomach. I would rate the ginger spiciness as "mild to moderate" so folks that don't enjoy a sharp, intense ginger should find this to be fine.

I've tried the original, double strength, and these super strength Gin Gins and these super strength are the worst so far for taste and texture. The texture is NOT "caramel-like" as stated on their site. The texture is more like a hard chewy candy that is old, stale, and way past its best by date. But these were not expired; they just tasted like they were. After you have it in your mouth for a while, they don't get much softer, just a tiny bit softer, and then they have this weird, gross crumbly, gritty texture. I don't know if they're fresh tasting. They don't really have any flavor in the beginning. These actually have the least ginger and spice flavor out of all the ones I've tried even though this is supposed to be the highest amount. There's no ginger kick at all with these. I get more ginger kick with the originals than these. And there's no ginger flavor at all in the beginning until you melt it and chew it a little, then you get a little taste of ginger. I get more ginger flavor with the original than these. I can't tell if it has any health benefits yet. I eat these for when I crave ginger candy, when I'm getting hungry and need something to tie me over, when I have nausea, and/or when I have stomach pains from being too hungry. So far I haven't had a time when I had nausea or stomach pains to test these out, but I think these will still work for that, but I'd rather eat the originals because the texture and taste of those are so much better and those work for sure. These look smaller than the originals but maybe a little bigger than the double strength, but it's hard to tell because they're different shapes and textures. But they look the weirdest. The color is not like any normal ginger candy I've had. The look and color looks like the candy is old and past its expiration date. It's pale and foggy. I think this would have been better if they made it like the hard or chewy candies instead of this weird hybrid. I received these on 2/6/26 and the expiration date is 2/5/27; only year. The originals that I bought on 9/26/25 expire on 6/23/27; almost 2 years. These have a shorter expiration date. I definitely won't buy these again and I'll probably have a hard time getting through this unpleasant batch. That's too bad because I like that it has 30% ginger. Going to try something else.
