Dritz Fray Check Liquid Seam Sealant 2-Pack – Permanent Clear Fabric Edge Protector to Prevent Fraying and Secure Thread Ends – 0.75 oz Bottles

I have yet to find a product that can compete with Fray Check. Other options I've found claiming to stop fraying are basically just glue and take up to 24 hours to dry. Fray Check works, it's clear, and dries in minutes. I've been using this product forever! And one bottle goes a long way. It has saved many projects, it is so effective, and just snip the tip as close to the top as possible for easier application.

I have several jeans that are too long and this is the perfect fix! Just cut off your jeans to the desired length, run them through the washer and dryer to let the cut edges unravel (there will be a narrow fringed edge), apply Dritz Fray Check, wash and dry again, and there you have it! I have jeans I did over a year ago and as many times as they have been laundered, the frayed edge is still sealed and invisible. To me, this is a better idea and costs much less than having them professionally hemmed. Besides, it is now the style anyway!

not sure how it will fare when being washed but I am please with the ease of use and how flexible the fabric remained after the product was applied.

I can't believe I ran out! Fray Check is great stuff! I used clear nail polish when I was out of Fray Check. It works great too, but Fray Check is preferred.

I've been experimenting with destroyed/frayed denim (100% cotton) looks since last summer and I've been using fray check exclusively for this purpose. I purchased denim with pre existing holes that I wanted to maintain, and I've made cut off shorts and raw hem jeans. I took me about one year to go through a bottle of this product, using it very sparingly and with a big break in the cold seasons. For me it's very worth it when it's a good enough deal. I just apply it liberally to the fabric and let it dry and then go about laundry as usual. It does not 100% prevent fraying (I apply it heavily, so that you can see it through both sides the fabric and it dries hard before machine washing) but it does reduce it by about 75%. Depending on how much you use, it can still feel hard/crunchy on the fabric after washing. The hold only lasts through 2-3 washing before you have to reapply in my experience. If you hand wash or use the delicate cycle, you might be able get even better results. I used this on various light blue jeans and there was no issue with discoloration but I used it on one black pair of jeans and the area was permanently lightened. I used it on another pair of the same black jeans and did not have any discoloration and I think it's because I used less. I applied fray check repeatedly in the same area with all of these fabrics. This is an efficient way for me to try new denim styles without hand sewing or buying machine.

The classic Dritz Fray Check is the best fray check out there and I’ve tried several others when this got too hard to find. It’s a very thin liquid so a little drop goes a long way. It won’t dry hard and feel like super glue. You can wash and dry as usual once the Fray Check is thoroughly dry. I keep a bottle in my laundry room and kitchen for anytime I see a small hole starting, or loose thread pulling. One drop of Fray Check will keep it from unraveling or growing. On *most* fabrics it’ll disappear after it’s dried. It does stay wet looking on the rare blend, I think mine was a merino nylon blend. Please don’t stop making this formula, Dritz!

I have used this item for years, and it never disappoints. If anything is starting to fray, clip any long and loose threads and apply Fray Check. It quickly dries and lasts through many many washings. In fact, I have never needed to reapply it, regardless of how often I have washed the item. I have often used this on fabric purse handles. After they begin to fray, I use Fray Check and the purse handle looks almost new again. I highly recommend this item.

Are use this to seal the wefts on my bundles so my wig wouldn’t shed. It works fantastically would recommend.

this is great, as it stops things from fraying. I wouldn't recommend for simply putting on something like a moth hole tho, as it dries slightly dark and hard - same as if you applied super glue to fabric. I use it where seams are tight, but remain hidden to stop stitches pulling out, or where twist locks are inserted and the fabric has to be cut to accommodate.
