Ironically I picked this one in the end because many other 4 slot toaster have reviews said that they couldn't even take a full sized slice of bread. This one even mentioned wide things like crumpets and muffins so seemed goo. But in reality, for a test run, I put 3 normal size slices into it but they didn't seem to go all the way down. So I thought the control wasn't going all the way down. I pushed it harder, but no harder than I would expect the thing to be able to cope with in normal use, and the plastic bit on the end of the slot loading mechanism snapped off completely. Looking at it there seems to be a design error. The entire length that is pushed onto the metal bar should be glued to the bar along its whole length so it shares any tortional force. As it is not glued all force is concentrated at the very thing join where the lower, long plastic piece joins the bit that is pushed. It's a very weak design.
