Tandy Leather Easy-to-Do Line 20 Snaps & Setter 3630-00

I have used multiple Tandy products over the years and they have been consistently good quality. The snap works well and adds a nice brass touch. I like that the snap is not too tight or too loose thumbs up and would purchase again.

I watched how-to videos before I applied any snaps. The trick to snaps, grommets, and rivets is that you need to make a small circle while pounding to evenly distribute the pressure. If you use it right, the tool is worth the money:)

The instructions were quite confusing. I had to go online to watch a tutorial to make sure I was using the right pieces together. In my first two attempts I squashed the rivet part. On the third try I decided to use small taps instead of hard hits and that did the trick, snaps fit together like a charm.

My package came with great instructions. Also, there are YouTube videos describing how to use the tool and anvil. It works best on a hard surface (like a concrete floor, not a wood table). The tool alone is $7, so it's quite a bargain to get 10 steel fasteners and 10 brass fasteners for $3 more. I used a punch tool to create a hole in my leather strap. Then, I followed the instructions and installed the snap. It takes about a minute for each fastener (so 2 minutes for the entire snap).

Instead of paying twenty bucks for a leather bracelet at Saturday market, I made four of them using Goodwill leather belts, and this equipment. Spent fifteen bucks, and now I can make as many as I want. These worked great.

Easy to use

These are eh. They are difficult to work with and I've managed to ruin quite a few of them trying to get them on. I've bought the line 24 and those are great, but stay away from these..

These work great. Depending on the thickness of my leather, i sometimes grind the post down a bit before hammering, as it makes for a neater installation. The quality of these snaps is good.

These snaps were easy to install using included anvil and setting tool. Instructions suggest using a wooden mallot but I used a regular hammer and didn't have any issues. Both nickel-plated and brass-plated snaps look nice (although a bit too shiny for my taste). They also work well: snap together easily and don't come undone on their own
