I needed a pad to go under a 16' hall runner to protect the hardwood flooring which was too thick as our double bi-fold doors on the linen closet needed to clear the rug when opened. Exactly the right height. I rated adhesion 4/5 because the runner does move over time but it's very easy to straighten it out. I rated it a 3/5 for softness because it isn't particularly soft as it is not too thick. The runner itself is very cushiony.
