What it does do so much better is steam. For the people who have leaks/brown water they need to know that when they turn the iron off that they should close the valve on the water container first, then hold the iron up off the ironing board and press the steam button until there is no more steam coming out (well sometimes there is still a little) and only then turn the iron off. When you turn it on in the morning first turn the iron on and three to five minutes later when the iron is hot then turn the water valve at the bottom of the water container on so the water can flow. Otherwise you have water inside the iron at night and it rusts and comes out the next day. And it could even leak during the night when if the water isn't turned off. **Q: What is the temperature range and how does the demineralization granules work? How often do they need replacing? Great, heavy, serious iron. It doesn’t automatically shut-off! Hooray! We just need to train ourselves to do so. Set-up was interesting. I ended up purchasing an IV pole from Amazon for about $25. Works perfectly to hang water container. Note that there is a filter bottle included - you don’t see it in pictures or directions for set-up. I purchased more filter filler to have ready when needed. I cranked this puppy up and proceeded to iron the all cotton and lace kitchen curtains. Wow! A challenge to get ironed but this unit did it beautifully! Consistent High heat and clean steam. Quilters dream.One month in. Hose leaks a bit. Be mindful of secure connection iron.
