Dollhouse: The Complete Seasons 1 & 2

Great underrated old show that Fox kicked off the air because they fought with Joss Whedon. Topher is one of the best characters but they are all good. Alan Tudyk and Amy Acker too. Oh Amy. She plays a doctor... and well. I can't say any more. Just watch it. Oh and the dvd pack arrived just fine in perfect condition.

I was worried I would get some bootleg bs ordering this online but its the real deal.

This show is totally underrated. Eliza is great and her character is realistic and sympathetic. The show throws some real surprises at you at the end of the second season. My only complaint is that the "Felicia Day" part of the show did not transition smoothly for me. That's all. I think Eliza Dushku is an underrated actress, probably because she has appeared in a lot of B horror movies, but I believe she really shows she has some chops in this series. Also, again, like Buffy, Firefly etc. he put out grade A television. I don't understand why some of his best shows are so quick to be cancelled. At least we got two seasons of Dollhouse and some closure.

The show is excellent, but the bluray disks are authored in such a way that the player cannot "remember" where playback left of, and must always restart at the beginning of the disk. This forces the viewer to fast-forward through each and every one of the dumb previews to reach the main menu, and figure out where one left off. I cannot find a chapter menu either. A poor authoring job by fox studios.

Joss Whedon's brilliant if short-lived series seems almost prescient in light of recent research in memory modification and programming. And the last half of the second season is downright haunting. Hands down one of the best things ever seen on television. Be aware that the first few episodes don't really convey the depth or complexity of the series. It's not until midway through season 1 that you really begin to understand what's going on and where this is going, so don't be put off of the first 3 or 4 episodes don't get you hooked right away. Keep watching -- it's worth the investment of time!

Love this show! When the discs first came I was pretty upset because they say "Irish Film Classification Office" and that they are from the UK. I looked closer on Amazon's page for this item and it said it may not play in blu ray players made in the US and Canada. This was NOT displayed where one would find it without looking for it specifically. However, I had no problems playing any of the discs in my ps3. The box set is literally a box, though. Not one of the ones where you can just slide out the season you need from the side.

J'ai acheté ce coffret un peu par hasard, en me fiant aux critiques positives. J'ai eu un peu de mal à accrocher aux premiers épisodes, trop indépendants les uns des autres, sans fil conducteur fort. Il était difficile de s'attacher à un personnage qui changeait de personnalité d'un épisode à l'autre, en fonction de sa programmation. Mais ensuite, lorsque le scénario commence à s'intéresser à ce qui se passe à l'intérieur de Dollhouse, à ceux qui dirigent comme à ceux qui sont dirigés, les choses se mettent progressivement en place. Le mystère sur cette organisation, les questionnements moraux qui découlent de l'utilisation d'une technologie permettant de "remplir" le corps d'une personne des qualités et compétences que l'on souhaite et l'attachement progressif aux différentes personnages finissent par rendre dépendant de cette série ! Les scénarios sont aussi intéressants que surprenants, Eliza Dushku vraiment crédible et l'ensemble se laisse suivre avec un réel plaisir. A la fin, j'étais juste déçue que ce soit déjà fini car il y avait encore tant de possibilités d'évolution que c'en était frustrant ! Pas d'hésitation, c'est une très bonne série à découvrir de toute urgence !

Dieser Frage geht die Serie "Dollhouse" von Joss Whedon, dem Mastermind hinter "Buffy" und dem viel zu früh abgesetzten "Firefly", nach. Dabei ist es wohl vor allem dem grandiosen Ensemble zu verdanken, wie mitreißend das Ganze tatsächlich ist. Eliza Dushku kann augenscheinlich in wirklich jede Rolle schlüpfen, und auch der Rest der Besetzung ist grandios - mir persönlich sind Enver Gjokaj in einer Hauptrolle sowie Amy Acker und Alan Tudyk in Gastrollen besonders positiv aufgefallen. Die Geschichte bleibt spannend, obwohl es im Grunde immer wieder völlig neue Personen gibt und die Handlungen nahezu jedes Genre umfassen können (Thrill ist immer dabei) - und spätestens in der letzten Folge der ersten Staffel lässt das Autorenteam eine Bombe platzen, die alles in einem völlig neuen Licht erscheinen lässt. Von mir gibt es also eine eindeutige Empfehlung - Spannung sowie gute Darsteller und ausgeklügelte Handlungen sorgen dafür, dass man immer weiter schauen will und lassen diese Serie zum absoluten Geheimtipp werden. Aber Achtung: Die Serie ist nur auf Englisch erhältlich, und aufgrund der teilweise komplizierten Handlung sollten die Englisch-Kenntnisse des Schauers über grundlegend hinausgehen!

Love the show, and very pleased with the dvds. Started to watch them right away and was very happy that season 1 and 2 came in a package.
