Can this be used on a six year old with bad hayfever?

Yes. They may need to hold it in place for the 3mins with being so small as it may not clamp on their little nose. So easy to use. Doesn’t hurt or cause discomfort. My son uses it before and after school, it is really good.

Can anyone please clarify, is this a short term use and disposable item? I ask as the Amazon buying options indicate you can buy on repeat delivery.

I don’t think so, you have to change the two batteries (it comes with 2 spare as well). There is a rubber seal to keep everything clean as once finished you just wash under the tap. I don’t see why you would need a replacement unless it breaks.
