Is it similar or better than barkeepers friend? i can find barkeepers friend in the stores but not Bon Ami

They are very different substances. Bon ami is limestone based (a natural substance) whereas barkeepers contains oxalic acid. Barkeepers works much better than bon ami on copper and stainless steal cooking utensils. In fact, bon ami is not effective on copper. I use bon ami on aluminum surfaces, such as around cooktop burners and anywhere I don't want any etching of the surface or whenever I don't need something as strong as barkeepers.

How does this compare to baking soda for odor absorption? (Don’t be the person that answers a question “I don’t know” those people don’t go to heaven)

It's not specifically designed for odor absorption and would do nothing. It is a cleanser. It is similar in use to clorox cleanser but is a much milder formula and can be used on glass and other surfaces that would be scratched by the harsher chemicals in the other brands.

it sells at whole foods for 1.59 why is this almost 6 dollars? is it more than one?

It comes in two sizes...14 oz or 21 oz. I can not buy this product locally so I am willing to buy it on-line in order to have it. If you can buy it locally, I would do it.
