Zoo Med Floating Betta Log (2 Pack)

There's a horrible chemical smell coming from these! I've been soaking them in water for two days now in a separate container and continually changing the water out multiple times per day and they still smell horrible! The first day you could see colorful swirls in the water in the top holes in both of them like when oil is in water. I'm so glad I didn't put them in my tank right away! Also on the inside of both of them there was chunks of black pieces flaking off of them. I could feel how rough they were inside so I stuck my finger in them and rubbed it around and tons of black flakes came off! Had these black flakes got in my fish tanks they were small enough for fish to think they were food so had they ate them they could have got sick and died! How long does it take for the chemical smell to dissipate? I'm not even sure if I want to chance putting these in my tank. I might just return them cause I've spent too much on my fish to risk having them die just for some decorations. You can see some of the black chunks/flakes that came off of them. There was a LOT that came off and looks like they are continuing to flake off even more yet! I just completely emptied the water and rinsed the bowl and as soon as I refilled it just from the water running over the logs even more chunks/flakes fell off of them!

I thought this item would come with suction cups but it didn't so I can't attach it to anything. There's a little hole to make it like a cave but that just naturally floats up so your betta can't swim through that hole but it can still swim through the other two ends. This was a 2 pack and I put it in two different betta tanks and within 5 minutes my bettas were swimming through it and loving it. I wish I had gotten it sooner for them because I didn't know they'd like it so much.

I have two bettas, a male and a female, in separate tanks of course. I purchased the 2 pack of floating logs so I could give one to each betta.The logs look ok and, so far, are holding up well in my tanks but my fish just don't seem all that impressed with them. The female uses hers a bit more than the male does but even that is barely at all. It could be because my fish are in large, planted, aquariums so they have a lot of live plants etc that they seem to prefer to the fake log.I'm wondering if maybe my fish will use these more as they get older. They are both pretty young and very active currently. Either way, I don't regret my purchase - I'm just not sure I'd buy these again.

Would be a five out of five if they had an optional suction cup attachment. You have to find a still place in your tank to make sure it doesn't move around. I took it out of my filtered 5 gallon because the water movement was just too much. The log was in a different spot every morning and the betta stayed away from it because of that. My betta that's currently in a bowl(temporary) however, loves it and spends most of his day in there. No sharp edges or anything to worry about tearing fins, and if it does move around, it's not so heavy as to hurt your fishy. Overall, pretty neat, does the job. Might purchase my own suction cup pieces to glue on if it goes back in a filtered tank again.

I was happy with the purchase for the first month and then the items began to crumble and chip. I am very disappointed and feel that this item has endangered my fish. If I could give a negative star rating, I would.

Cute floating logs but none of my bettas (so far) seem to care for it. I wish I had thought about the fact that there is not a suction cup or anchoring device to keep it in one area. When I try it again I will get a suction cup & figure a way to stop it from moving.

So I bought this and put it in my tanks after rinsing with water. So much paint has come off. I hope it doesn't hurt my fish. The fish absolutely love the betta logs, they love them! Just seems like cheap quality. You can see where it is light grey where the paint has come off

My bettas love these floating logs. But it has strong smell when I first got it like chemicals. So at the beginning my betta didnt want to enjoy laying in the log but when smell fades I notice my betta enjoy using it. The chemical-like smell does fade by the time it soak in the water.

Eigentlich ein schöner Artikel, jedoch wurde mir anstelle des bestellten 2er Packs nur einen Artikel geliefert u.von dem Verkäufer lediglich die Antwort, dass ich nur einen bestellt hätte. Für mich sind wurden hier eindeutig 2 Artikel angegeben u.somit wird der Käufer leider getäuscht.
