DIY Industrial Pipe Furniture and Decor: Creative Projects for Every Room of Your Home

If you and your partner, or a friend of yours is into fun, creative and unique projects - then this is absolutely the book for you. This book is an amazing guide/resource for anyone who is looking for a great way to spruce up their home!!! It covers the basics for newbs like me from staining wood, buying a drill and hanging it up. My boyfriend especially enjoyed this last one since he constantly laughs at my version of hanging things up. This book has it all for creating your own unique look in and around your home (or perhaps business). It has beautiful visuals of what your completed project should look like in addition to step by step directions (with images) that made it extremely easy to get things done. The best part is that a lot of these things are relatively easy to make and the end result is amazing!!! We've built a few things from this book so far and have really enjoyed having new projects to work on on the weekends. This is definitely a fun book for anyone who loves to get their hands on new projects!! Some extremely useful projects have come out of this too!! Good luck and I highly recommend this book for you or someone in your life who may love projects and functional gifts!!

I got this book as a "hint hint" for my construction worker boyfriend when we moved in together, and he has been loving the detailed instructions and step by step photos (not incomprehensible diagrams, but actual PHOTOS) in this book. We live close to a Menard's which always is having some sale or other, and so it's been easy to accumulate the supplies we need. So far we have tackled the garment rack, the napkin rings and the door handle, and have been really impressed with the sturdy results. It's a fun tone, too--it's a lot less boring than you might imagine a book like this to be. Gifting for construction types can be so hard during the holidays, but honestly this plus a $20 gift card to a home improvement store would be an amazing gift. It's well-written, clear, and has a lot of variety. I personally recommend getting a can of spray metal paint in a brass color to step up these projects a little more, but that's totally up to your aesthetic.

This kind of crafting is a little intimidating for me—you have to go to a hardware store instead of Michaels?—but as the author says, it’s a lot cheaper to create this kind of look at home then buy it premade. Ironically, the DIY, industrial look always seems to come at a premium. If you like that kind of look, then this book has a variety of projects for you to start outfitting your house in. If you’re a little hesitant, like me, you can start with small things like coat hooks. The instructions are easy to follow, especially if you make use of the glossary section in the beginning of the book. Overall, I’m still a little nervous to tackle it, but if you’re an experienced crafter or just gung-ho about DIY, this book is a great entry point for using pipe and getting that industrial look.

Book came on time and in great condition. The projects look great and have me ideas for one of my own I'd like to try in the future.

Mostly an idea book where the author has a great eye for design (gay guy out of the fashion industry - go figure :-) Not an craftsmans guide. Meaning that there are a lot of tricks in working with this kinda pipe that I had to learn the hard way and I am pretty handy with building projects, but my first time working with threaded pipe. I built a 7-shelf pantry project which was a variant of the author's 3 shelf living room project. Doubling the connections/height doubled the variance in level/plumb/true issues. The Author should collaborate with craftsman and add a chapter on tips/tricks.

This is a WONDERFUL book! It is full of so many great ideas. The instructions are step by step and are detailed with photos. They could not be any easier to follow. Anyone can make any item in this book! You will love your finished product. I am looking forward to upcoming projects from James Angus.

Great book! The instructions for the projects are well-written, and there are many photos of the steps. (My biggest pet peeve of these sorts of DIY books is that usually there just aren't enough pictures for visual learners to be able to complete the project.) I'm someone who has stood in front of that bewildering array of metal at the big box store, not sure of what to buy. This book lays it all out! If you like this sort of industrial style, and are a DIYer (or want to become one!) you will love this book. The photos are inspiring as well, and the dog on the cover is just darn cute.

DIY is some of my favorite stuff but some of it is so cutesy! I LOVED the style of this book! My boyfriend loved the steampunk floor lamp. A total hit. I can't wait to visit him over Christmas break so we can build it together! This stuff is so expensive on Etsy and so hard to find in real life and then it's not really as right as I want it to be. This DIY book is perfect for me. I can make everything the way I want it and it's so accessible too! Like it is a completely easy, practical, interesting read and I don't feel left out any step of the way. i completely recommend this book. It's great just for your own life but also I would've loved to have gotten this for Christmas or a birthday it's just a treat. It's a totally fun one to have on the shelf and bust out when you want to spice up your apartment decor!

Great for beginners to learn, I do wish there were more complex projects but there's where the beauty of this book is. Cracking read and very humble.
