Literally one of my best purchases
I got these because they supposedly had decent noise canceling, and they were light weight. The noise cancelling is pretty good, and you can't really hear much at all if you have music on, but you can still hear everything (just muffled) with no sound playing. Which is ideal for me, and something I really like about this product. They are also not that heavy, and don't give me awful headaches like a lot of headphones do.The sound quality is also GREAT.The only downsides are that the mic is a little quiet, and you won't be able to be heard over the phone on a windy day. And they aren't super tight on my head, so they do fall off easy if you're doing even light jogging. They also connect to your devices pretty quickly, especially if you use the same device over and over. The only problem is when someone decides to borrow them, and then it has to test that connection first the next time you pick them up. Even WORSE if they're in the room because they will constantly connect to that device haha. That being said, I use these at my desk, and to walk to class all the time. The battery lasts ages (although it does take a little while to charge), and they're super comfortable. The case also keeps them nicely packed, and they are much sturdier than they look. I usually just put them around my neck to leave the house, and honestly I have had no problems with that in terms of wear.I've had them for a little over a year now, and I use them just about every day, and they are showing ZERO signs of wear or tear. I would HIGHLY recommend these.

Better than Quiet Comfort 35 ii
I was hesistant to purchase the new 45's after reading the reviews. After years of using Quiet Comfort 35 ii's, I can safely say these have better sound quality. No doubt about it, using these back to back with a pair of 35's, these were significantly better. Were they massive better? I would say easily better sound, not massively better sound. With the high's of the 45's you hear more, you here more sound, more crisp highs, and that's where the difference is. Bass was the same between the two headphones, the difference is the highs. The quality of the head phones is a bit better all around too, better buttons, better head cushion, no Bose emblem to damage or rub off. Bluetooth 5.1 way way better than 4.0. I can listen to these headphones from severall rooms away, in comparison, 35's are not reliable from only 15 to 20 feet away.Even if everything with the 35's and 45's were equal (which they are not), the bluetooh 5.1 is massive upgrade over 4.0. Only negative, is using two devices at once, I have some problems with the headphones from transitioning to one device to the next. That's possibly because other devices I am using are not bluetooth 5.1 (but are 4.0). That's really the only negative about these headphones. Easily forgiven, since everything else on these headphones is superior. Also, USB C, much faster charging is nice, easy to connect over mini USB. Noise canceling is way way better. Cannot even hear a person next to you when listening to music at a decent volume level. Bravo Bose, Bravo!!!I was highly skeptical at first, wasn't going to purchase... Glad I did. Highly recommend over 35 ii's, worth the extra money easily. I couldn't even go back to the 35's after using these.

One Month of Use, No Complaints Whatsoever (Will Update in A Year)
I did a lot of research looking into bluetooth headphones; as someone with hearing damage and is very picky about how their headphones rest on their ears, I knew I couldn't settle. I bought various other pairs before trying Bose Quiet Comfort, such as KVIDIO (Not tight to head/sound leaking, bassy sound), Sennheiser 350BT (Pinched my ears, quieter than other sets, could hear myself in calls and couldn't turn off in app), and Soundcore Q35 (Entirely different sound depending on the device and if plugged in, couldn't listen to music and be in voice call at same time without plugging in), all of which had their dilemmas. I really wanted a nice pair of bluetooth headphones for cheap, but in my search I recognized that wasn't possible, so I saved up what I had and thankfully snagged this on discount (bought for $180).The sound is absolutely immersive; my worries about these headphones was that the bass was going to be too heavy, as SONY bluetooth headphones and other sets in this price range are usually very bass heavy. Fortunately, that wasn't the case with Quiet Comfort; it's strong, but it doesn't overpower. The mids and treble sound great too, and I can't say I've had any issues with listening to music, calls with friends, etc, other than those friends having shoddy microphones (No problem though). The fit on this set is also solid; I have noticed in warmer weather that my ears get sweaty, but that's to be expected with any headset that's over-ear. My only note is that I noticed the inside of the headphones have molded to my ear. When I first got them, the meshy material with the L and R was flat, but now it's slightly caved in. I'm not sure if it's impacted anything, because I haven't heard a difference in sound, and they don't feel different. I will keep an eye on it for when I update this review. The controls are simple, a switch on button and three buttons to turn up, down, pause, and skip music (and if on mobile, to use your voice assistant) on the right cuff. On the left, the only button is the noise cancelling (two settings; aware and noise-cancel). I enjoy that this headset has two ports, one for charging, and another to plug them into the device to use instead of bluetooth. However, I will note to anyone that uses these headphones plugged in; when the set is in wired mode, it disables bluetooth, and when still on it sounds incredibly quiet. And, when turned off and plugged in, the EQ and Stereo Sound disable, so using the headphones without them being on is really rough. These doesn't steer me away from using them though, as I mainly use them on and via bluetooth. I mean, to be honest, who uses bluetooth headphones with a wire anyway unless they're dead?I'm also actually pretty impressed by the battery on these. They last me all day and night, and I plug them in when I sleep. They charge really fast, and I've only had two occasions of low battery, mainly due to me forgetting to charge em.Overall, my only worry onward is the deterioration, if there is any, and possible connection issues. Haven't had those yet, and hopefully I won't in a year.

A+ on all expectations
My Bose QuietComfort 45 Wireless Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Headphones arrived a bit later than promised. Additionally, I bought them as new, but noticed the box had been opened, the instructions loose and a wrapper for the optional cords had been ripped off. I was definitely of the mind to return them and complain. However I inspected them for tell-tale signs of use, they appeared mint and figured I would at least try them out.I connected them via bluetooth to my android phone, LG OLED TV, and my computer. All three sounded fantastic. When the bass kicked in during a movie it was outstanding. Bluetooth word/mouth sync on some shows was off but not on the majority of what I viewed. I did not experience noise issues, signal loss or any other negatives mentioned in other reviews. And they are unbelievably comfortable for extended periods of time. Battery life is very good. I've used them for 8 hours at a stretch and still had quite a bit of juice. So I decided to keep them despite the initial open box disappointment. They were not advertised by Amazon as refurbished and definitely not offered at the refurbished price. But I know quality when I hear it. My other headphones are Grado's and they are a good comparison indicator (although open ear). The ability to wander around and filter out noisy neighbors with these is worth the price alone. That I can go jogging, watch movies or sit around in perfect quiet comfort and work the New York Times puzzles and games is priceless.

I returned Sony WXM004's and got QC45's..... sooooo...... who wins?
I am going to have to go with the QC45's for noise canceling but the Sony is better on sound. Much better. I am writing this review because I really struggled with which pair to buy. Ended up trying both, so I hope this helps others who are on the fence. First it is worth noting that I had to return the Sony's because they hurt my ears. There is something somewhat pointy behind the cloth and it kept pressure on my outer ear. Got really uncomfortable after wearing for 15 minutes or so. Also, there was something wrong with the Bluetooth. The sound was lacking and hollow like you were listening in a barrel. It only did this over Bluetooth, not when using the cord. For these reasons I returned them. I read all the reviews that were available on the QC45 and they all basically said the same thing. Noise canceling is awesome. Sound quality is lacking - especially the base. I can definitely confirm this is true. Having compared both headsets in the same listening conditions and same music, it is very obvious. First, the QC45 noise canceling is just better. It muted out my droning refrigerator whereas the Sony didn't quite do as well. Don't get me wrong, though, the Sony noise canceling is excellent. The QC45 is just a little better. I can also confirm the QC45 has a slight "white noise" sound when the room is quiet. But it does not bother me and is no worse than my previous JVC noise canceling headphones. It is actually kinda soothing. I can confirm that there is more room in the QC45s. They do not hurt my ears. I am not having the weird hollow sounding Bluetooth issues on the QC45 that I experienced with the Sony's.But when it comes to listening to music, this is where the Sony's do a much better job. I want to be clear that the issue for me is primarily the lack of base. I know I read this was an issue, but I expected that the QC45s would still have good base, and it was the brain thumping base folks who were the ones commenting it was lacking base. I suspected it might be just fine for my needs. I have to be honest here folks.... the base is just NOT there. Its just not. Not only is the base not there, the folks at Bose definitely tune these on the bright side. The treble is just a little too high for me at the volume I like to listen at. You can turn the volume down and this subsides, but that is a poor way to have to deal with headphones that are tuned just one way - bright. Bose really blew it here. The lack of base at the bright highs could have been easlily solved if I could have adjusted them via the Bose app....but no, the marketing folks had to make them look like the "cheaper model" compared to the 700's. Wake up Bose. Nobody likes the same kind of sound. An equalizer is an absolute must. You are and will continue to lose business on the QC45's unless you release an upgrade that allows QC45 folks to access the same type of equalizer that the 700 folks have. Just sayin......The other annoying things for me are the inability to quickly check the battery life and the music pause when you remove the headphones. The Sony's let you check battery life with a quick button push. I used this feature all the time. Not so on the QC45's. You have to log into your phone app to see this. Well this does no good when you are working on your laptop. Switching back and forth between laptop listening and phone listening was a bit more seamless and easy on the Sony's, too. The music pause that was available on the Sony's turned out to be really useful. I found myself taking the headphones on and off a lot during the work day. Pausing whatever was streaming was great. That great feature is missing on the QC45's. Overall I have to say both were great. My advice is go with the QC45 if noise canceling is most important. Go with the Sony's if the sound quality is more important.

True noise canceling and definitely worth the money!
Used these headpones a few times and they are awesome!! The sound is amazing!! They have two modes, Quiet and Aware. Aware allows you to hear your surroundings while you have music playing, which is nice when you are out in public and need to be aware of your surroundings. Quiet mutes all surrounding noises. And Quiet works wonders!! I have been looking for true noise canceling headphones and these are best. I can't hear Anything! Someone next to me had to actually yell almost at the top of their lungs before I finally heard them. Finally blissful quiet. I'm in heaven. Used the phone call feature and heard the other person fine. One issue i did find was that all of a sudden there was static noise in the right ear phone. It wasn't interference or anything like that. I could still hear music, there was just loud static when it was on Aware. I troubleshooted and nothing helped - turned it on/off, disabled features, changes settings, turned off Bluetooth and multi point access, everything, nothing worked and I was still hearing static during Aware mode. Finally, not having anything else to lose, I took a page of age old advice from my parents/grandparents era and gave it the old tried and true light smack to the outside cover and it fixed itself. I can't believe it actually worked! No more static. Go figure! So glad I didn't have to return these.

Wonderful!
I am trying to give here the kind of info I would have wanted while shopping. In addition to looking for headphones that meet my audio needs, I am also blind and wanted a good description since I could not see the photos.I have been a Bose user for many years, first wired headphones, then SoundLink,, then bought the QC 35 for my stepdaughter and then the NC700 for myself. I replaced my NC 700 headphones with QuietComfort 45 and I am quite happy. The QC 45 are over-ear headphones (cups that fit over the entire ear). The band goes over your head and the part that touches your head is rubbery in texture, not slick like the NC 700. This is a definite improvement. It retains the noise cancelling ability but the headset won't fly off your head if you move quickly. The controls for the QC45 are all buttons and switches--a huge plus! I won't be accidentally hanging up on people or anything else. Also, blind people hate the touch controls. Thank you, Bose, for bringing back the buttons! The Bose Music app is also much improved! There are no more unlabeled buttons! In the app, the tips are very descriptive and will provide all the help one needs to know which controls do what. If you have owned the old Soundlink model, the controls are exactly the same. These headphones fold just like the old Soundlink model. This is also a major advantage for me over the NC700.I have found the sound quality to be improved over the NC 700. I should say that I have a hearing loss and I may simply prefer this headset to the other. I think the NC 700 may be better at producing base, so keep this in mind if you have a strong preference for particular sound quality. On the other hand it is also possible to change the settings via the EQ in the music app. Some reviews are mentioning a radio-type sound. This happened when I tried to pair with a PC, specifically if I tried connecting to "headset" instead of "headphones". I have paired with my phone through the music app first, then had the music app place the headphones in pairing mode and set my PC to search for devices. I am having no trouble with sound quality. The only thing I personally wish is that these were on-ear headphones. I don't actually like over-ear products but I also don't like earbuds. It's not something to mark them down for, just a personal preference.

Quality Headphones
Bought in July 2023 and although I didn’t use them very frequently the first couple years (average of 1 hour a week), I was happy with their performance and had no issues. I now use them 20+ hours a week and they are still going strong.

Great headphones just beaten by the Sony XM4
If you're considering buying the Bose QC45, you're probably also considering the Sony 1000XM4 headphones too. They're both priced about the same currently and are both getting great reviews.Yet I was torn between the two so I decided to buy both and keep the one I liked the most. At least that was the plan. The Sony XM4s have been a runaway success only recently replaced by the XM5 which are £100 more, so I left these out as they were just a bit more then I wanted to spen. Here's what I liked and disliked about them both.Build quality and comfortThe Bose QC45 feel light in the hand and well made. However I did not like the exposed screws. The Sony XM4s are better sealed at the joints and feel better well built in the hand. The Sony is a fraction heavier but there's nothing in it between the two.The ear pads are better on the Sony. They just feel more cushioned than the Bose. The Bose feel cheaper. I also noticed that the headband on the Sony is slightly more comfortable. I found the Bose headband would dig in to the top of my head slightly. You notice you're wearing them after a while. The Sony cups feel they have more space in them for your ears. I felt my ears were touching the inside of the cups on the Bose.Noise cancelling/transparacy modeI like the way you can switch the Bose between transparent and noise cancelling. It's just a single press of the button on the left cup. Simple. Both modes work brilliatly. I've used the transparency mode while walking so I can still hear some traffic, and the NC mode in my local noisy coffee shop. Both modes work very well. The call quality is excellent. The other person on the call could hear me very well during a walk outside on a rather windy day. No issues with calls.ControlsThe Bose has physical buttons for the volume controls and to pause play. The Sony has touch sensitive controls which are getting some bad reviews online. This is totally wrong in my opinion. The touch controls work very well on the Sony. I found with the Bose that when I wanted to adjust the volume, I had to place several fingures on the right cup before pressing down on the volume with my index finger. I found that otherwise the cup would slightly move from my ear which became anoying having to reposition it again for comfort. The Sony is just a one finger swipe and very easy to do without disturbing the cup position. The Bose buttons don't feel that high quality. They don't have that satisfiying click or feel. You get a nice satisfying confirmation sound when toggling the on/off button, again a phyical switch that does feel it will break at some point. You get a voice confirmation that you are connected and the battery power remaining. The Bose has a very old computer generated voice which is terrible. The Sony voice is much more modern and clear making the Sony feel more up to date. The Sony has a press and hold button to power on/off. This also gives you a confimation that your Bluetooth has connected.SoundSo the important stuff. I've played several tracks over and over on both headphones switching between the two and repeating the track. There are some differencs and it is all subjective.I found the Bose was clearer in the midrange and higher tones. I also felt there was a little more clarity in the words of the song then in the Sony. But the Sony came across more powerful lower down with base. You just feel the Sony has more capacity and power. The music sounds stronger. The Bose is very good but just lacks the real strong base of a track.AppI tried both with no EQ straight out of the box. When I adjusted the EQ on both, I got even stronger sound from both. The Sony still feels more punchy. The Bose is very good for podcasts, super clear and great noise cancelling. The EQ on the Bose is very simple with very little adjustments. The Sony is more comprehensive. The Sony has a much better App with more ajustments. It can even learn your regular locations and adjust the sound and NC accordingly. The Bose does none of this. The Sony has a great feature that pauses the music if you simply start to talk to someone. It also switches to transparent mode so you can hear them. Great when ordering a coffee! The Bose doesn't do this. The Sony pauses the music if you lift the headphones off your head, resumes play when you place them back on. The Bose doesn't do this. You can cover the right cup with your hand on the Sony to temparaliy switch to transparancy mode to listen to someone speak. The Bose doesn't do this.ConclusionOverall, both headpones are brilliant in their own way and in isolation.I just feel I keep leaning over to the Sony for some reason. They just feel better quality, sound stronger and have better controls and features. They just feel more expensive.I feel you're paying for the Bose branding and would truly price the Bose QC45 between £150-£200 max. The Sony on the other hand feel a bargain at £240 currently. Both have a nice small case yet the Sony case seems more thought out with better internals. The Sony case has a canvas feel, the Bose a hard shell feel. Both very protable in your bag.One final thought which has been overlooked by online reviewers. The Bose branding on the side of the cups stands out. This made me feel concious of wearing them while walking in the street letting others know I have a pair of expensive headphones on. The Sony are much more discreet and can be mistaken at a distance for their cheaper £50 headphones. I just felt more relaxed wearing the Sony out in public.Yet it felt the opposite while sitting in a coffee shop wearing the Bose. I felt good wearing a quality product and brand everyone knows. It's a small thing but I noticed how it made me feel.I'm reluctant to return the Bose QC45s but between the two, I feel the Sony XM4s are just better.

Noise cancelling = value for money
First of all and above anything else: all other NC headphones are performing less in dampening the background. In posession now for some 3 months.Very content about the sound quality, simplicity of use, duration of the USB rechargeable battery

Bra ANC
