Chickens best winter friend!
My big hens and my little fancy roosters love to snuggle up to this panel. I have peace of mind knowing they are safe and warm on those cold winter nights. I have left it on for days on end (by mistake) and after a year it's still working perfectly

Works great indoors!
Before purchasing this, I had asked if anyone used it indoors for pet birds. I received positive feedback that it could work and it does! It hangs on the wall and has two settings, low and high. I am using low and have it positioned behind the bird cage for my budgies. It is large enough to heat the cage, but one side that is away from the heater is still cooler in case they get too hot. It uses radiant heat, so you won't feel a difference in the air. If you hold your hand in front of it for a while, you will feel the warmth. The back gets warm to the touch but it is supposed to not be a fire hazard at all and I believe that to be true. The front gets pretty hot to the touch, so this must be outside the cage and away from where the birds will land. It also comes with feet, which we use at night. We put the birds in the bathroom so it is dark and quiet, and also a warmer room. The heater stands on its feet on the counter. I am so glad I bought this heater, as my birds were cold all day before. You could definitely use this under a desk as a leg warmer, but it will not warm a room, only things that are within a couple feet of it.

What a steal at $38.00!!!
UPDATE: As of 1/1/20 Customer service got back to me within about 24 hours and they will be replacing my heater with a brand new one, which is awesome! I am however still a bit discouraged the unit went out so quickly but my other one still works just fine. I can’t really say how long these panels will last but their customer service is very good. All told I give the product itself a 4 star and the customer service a 5 star but I will update if I have any additional problems. UPDATE: 12/29/2019 I’ve been using this product in my coop for a little over 2 months and one of my warmers is completely dead. I have contacted the manufacturer and I’m waiting to hear back for replacement. I’m changing my review from 5 stars to 1 star until I hear back from the manufacturer. I started off loving this product but now I’m a bit more skeptical, a product should last long than 2 months in my opinion and I doubt I would ever purchase again. I will give another update when I hear back from my warranty claim. Hopefully their customer service is up to par. So far I just love this coop heater! It’s much safer than a conventional heat lamp which left unattended or improperly installed can catch your coop and or house on fire. My goal was to keep my coop above freezing during the cold winter nights which I’d have to say these have delivered as promised. My coop stays very comfortable, you don’t want your coop 70 degrees at night, chickens do very well in cold weather and any nighttime temperature in the 30’s or 40’s is ideal. They can withstand much lower than that but combs can get frostbite if it stays in the teens or single digits for too long. I would highly recommend this product, for $38 bucks I believe this is a steal and it’s worked very well for me and my flock.

Very good heater
The delivery time of this product was excellent. The heater works very well and the chickens seem to gravitate to it. I was worried about the possibility of a fire in the coop but the heater is only warm to the touch but gives up enough heat to keep the chickens comfortable. They even decided to lay their eggs below it. I would highly recommend this product.

Great heater!
I am a new chicken mom who needed to figure out how to get my 6 week old chicks out of my house and into their coop before the weather warmed up. They are poop machines and needed to be in a bigger space. I have to say I was nervous about this heater because of the reviewer who posted pictures of her burned up unit and description of her dead chickens. It took me a week but I decided to buy it. I’m so pleased with this heater. I’ve had it running for 2 weeks, on both low and high, and it works beautifully! It is quite hot to the touch; however that hasn’t stopped my chicks from roosting on it and sitting fairly close to it. I’ve used it down to 28 degrees and the chicks have been fine. I have it hanging on the coop wall next to their roost. I don’t have it near any pine shavings so I can’t speak to its safety regarding that. I also like that the cord is wrapped in a metal spring like thing that is suppose to keep the chicks from pecking the cord and damaging it. The only problem I’ve had is that the chicks turned the unit off once by stepping on the on/off switch. Problem solved by affixing it to the coop wall away from chicken feet.

Outside Cat Heater
My outside (semi-feral) cats love their heater in their house. This thing keeps their house so cozy and warm. I absolutely love the flat design so it doesn't take up much space in the dog house I purchased for them. There's no noise associated with it. It doesn't get to hot for my cats but it does get "warm". At the end of winter here in Virginia I remove it and clean it easily with a damp rag and dry it and store it away for the summer and put it back in the house box late fall, early winter. I've ordered 2 because I want to make sure I have a spare. The cost of it was amazing. I would order again and again.

Buyer beware my fellow chicken peeps. Purchase from a different vendor. C
Heed the warnings from other purchasers. I believe the way the vendor laid out their page was deliberately done to mislead the consumer. I had purchased a Cozy Coop heater in the past. It was a large squar-ish item, solidly built (it is shown in one of the displayed pics). I clicked the buy again button & got a tiny 8×19 panel, by Cozy Chickens, that is cheaply made & looks like a children's toy. Whether or not they share the same parent company is irrelevant. The quality is not there (cheap unfinished, open faced, plastic on the back), the size is tiny (8 inches tall), small (4 inch) unstable L brackets for legs, no safety shut off, & a warning on the box saying it leaches DEHP, a cancer causing agent. The product sent would be incapable of doing what a chicken owner would expect for a coop. My girls safety is to important to me. Definitely going back. If you're looking for quality, safety, & longevity, may I suggest a Sweeter Heater. But as chicken people you probably already know of them.

Surprisingly impressed
Had a red heat lamp in coop for several years and I was always terrified I’d wake up to my coop burned down . Very unsafe but I got lucky all those years. This year I decided no more of that. I know chickens are pretty hardy without added heat, but Wisconsin winters can get really cold at times. I hung this on the wall closest to the roost bar. I wrap most of the outside of coop in plastic which helps retain warmth to, but turning this heater on high would keep coop about 20 degrees warmer at night. I have a TempStick (highly recommend) in the coop on the opposite wall from this heater that gives me hourly readings of temp and humidity so I see the warmth this heater gives off. It was a pretty mild winter here but when it was -2 degrees outside it was 25degrees in my 4x6x6 coop with this thing going. If you have a really big coop you might need a couple of these. I’ve put my hand on it when it’s on and it’s hot, but not hot enough to start straw on fire. I only turn it on on nights when temps drop below 10 degrees. I would not recommend putting this where water gets. I run the cord out of the coop to an extension cord in a dry covered run. It has a switch on the cord that allows you to turn two heat settings, low and high, and off. Love it! Peace of mind is priceless.

Works great for cat and dog houses too!
I came to Amazon looking for a replacement heat lamp bulb but came across this unit and thought it sounded ideal for my application, which is not chickens but my 2 outdoor cats. I turn on the heat for them when outdoor temps are -12C or more. They have a custom house built under the house sidestep with a rubber sponge mat for a curtain, an interior heat lamp fixture, plus plywood walls & floor are insulated with styrofoam insulation. It was a dog house for a very large dog no longer here, cats have taken it over. I was after my husband for quite a while to renovate it and make it smaller so the area to heat was reduced and it would be warmer for cats, but he opted to let the hairy buggers into the house when it was cold instead. Recently the bulb burnt out, which brought me to Amazon looking for another one. I came across this and it sounded safer, more efficient and perfectly suited to my cat house. I love that it gives off heat but won't burn! I have in the past had cats with a big circular burn on their back when it was -30 or more and they got way too close to the heat lamp by piling on top of each other - had to buy a guard for it so that didn't happen again! Not an issue with this unit. I definitely notice on my electric bill when I plug in the heat lamp. I am certain this chicken coop heater must be more efficient and won't use the same amount of power. What would really be fantastic now is a solar panel to power it, although only useful probably 30% of the winter time with our harsh climate & lack of sun it would still be a reduction in costs to run it. I also love that the plugin cord is wrapped in wire because one of the cats has a penchant for chewing on cords, can't tell you how many phone charger ends the little bugger has wrecked chewing when he was allowed in the house. I installed this quite easily, the worst part was lining up the screws level to hang it on the wall. Before installation I did plug it in and turn it on both settings to ensure it worked. It has the power icon embedded in one corner and that is your indicator it is on & working since it glows somewhat when heated. It gives off great radiant heat, I don't know how since there is no fan to disperse it but when I opened the front curtain to check it the next day, cats were laying more than a foot away and sleeping comfortably - you can't even see them in the photo. It was perfectly toasty in there, I estimate dimensions of the area heated is in the neighborhood of 4x5x4 ft. It was -10C outside at the time and I had the heater on high. I expected to find them laying against it, especially the old cat with arthritis. With the heat lamp, they'd have been huddled directly underneath it. They love this coop heater! I was unsure it was going to work because when it arrived part of it had punctured the box, as seen in photo. It was packaged inside an Amazon box while in transit at least. Turns out it was just one of the legs of the unit which I wasn't using anyway. I have this plugged in to a smart plug which is managed by Alexa, the entire setup is just 'cat's meow' ha! This was a smart replacement, after a week I'm quite happy with it and so are my cats. I also think it is a safer alternative to heat lamps. Now I want to see if I can set a timer or actions so it starts on its own based on temperature outdoors rather than time of day. Now that would be smart, genius in fact! If you are thinking about this purchase, buy it you won't regret it I'm sure. If you found this review helpful in any way by all means say so by clicking the button below :)

Very good product for small spaces
This product has worked great for my needs. I built an insulated doghouse for my French bulldog for the winter. The interior of the doghouse is around 2.5 ft by 3.5 feet and with the heater mounted on the inside wall it stays warm 24/7. I took the temperature when it was -10°C outside and it was 15°C inside the doghouse. I keep it turned on day and night and this is the second winter that it's held up fine. Very pleased. Not sure I would use it for a bigger space or one with wide open gaps as it doesn't project much heat, the pad itself heats up to a very warm temperature and this is enough to heat the small doghouse.

Works so far but not really cold yet
Have a tractor run with attached coop. Run is 4x12 with the coop making up the first 4 feet and 2 feet of the ground. Coop is 4x4x4, 2 levels with roosts on 2 sides up top, attached nesting boxes on the back, and a small ramp. We live in Atlantic Canada and in November their water in the coop started to freeze. Finally got the heater out a week before Christmas. It's plugged into a thermostatically controlled outlet that comes on at 2c and shuts off at 7c. It's hung on the door on the lower level on the side of the coop. Also put a wireless temperature and humidity sensor in the coop. So far with the heater on high, the coop temperature has been between 0.5c on the coldest night to 7c or 8c on balmy days. The water has not frozen since but it's also just to the side of the heater. So it is working and does raise the temperature inside this small coop. However, it remains to be seen what happens when we get temperatures of -20c and -35c windchill. Straw is touching the face of the heater but I don't believe it's hot enough to ignite. It may burn your hand if you touch the heater long enough though.

Great and safe!
My chickens love these! I hung them on the back wall by their perches and they roost near them to stay warm! They are safer than a brooder bulb. Because it gets so cold here in Alberta, I have a heat bulb for backup...I have only had to use that when the -35C weather hits! These units heat the bird, not the coop, so I think the heat lamp is solely for my peace of mind!

Working good !
Working good so far ! I bought two and hung them up, and no issues yet. Been using it most of the winter, as our last one from a different brand warped to the point of it's demise this spring. Keeping my flock happy !
