Great small, sturdy, versatile and inexpensive light
The media could not be loaded. The Orcatorch D580 is a good addition to a diver's gear (I dive a lot and have a lot of different lights for different situations). First impressions - construction is extremely solid and it's easy to get running. The light is small (can fit in the palm of your hand), making it very useful for unobtrusively carrying with your gear - for instance as a backup light on a night dive or during a day dive where you will occasionally be looking into caves or crevices. Unlike some lights, it doesn't have a switch which could drain the battery in your bag or provide another component to leak/break - you simply twist the body to turn the light on and off. I feel this will last longer than some if its peer lights. The light itself is not the brightest, but it's completely adequate for looking into nooks and crannies (see the photos) as well as deeper dark areas - it illuminated a green sea turtle swimming out of a drainage pipe toward me and made a great encounter. The light came equipped with extra O-rings as well as a battery adapter that allows operation with 3 AAA batteries (alternatively, you can use a 18650 rechargeable battery - not included) - this provides a lot of flexibility if recharging is inconvenient. Overall I really like this light and it'll have a permanent spot on my gear.Pros:(+) Small, sturdy and simple light that should last awhile.(+) Can use AAA batteries or rechargeable battery (not included)(+) Tight beam that provides good illumination for day/night use(+) InexpensiveCons(-) Limited brightness and tight beam make it not well suited as a primary night diving lightOverall: A great light which can be a valuable, important part of your dive gear.

Compact and surprisingly bright
The media could not be loaded. I found this little light to be surprisingly capable for light duty diving. It gave plenty of light for day diving in Hawaii to look under ledges and inside caverns. It also did pretty well on a night dive. The small size and rotary switch both make it an ideal choice for a backup light. Although it comes with the AAA batteries acquiring and using the 18650 rechargeable battery will give the best performance.I've been using OrcaTorch lights for over four years and I've found them all to be highly reliable with plenty of battery life for 90-minute dives.(I received this product as part of a promotion.)

Really great affordable dive light!
The D580 is a great bang for buck flashlight! With a 530 lumen brightness (with a li-on), it packs a punch. The light was pretty decent in super milky 15ft visibility in California cold waters. The low lumen was not too bright to shine all the particles in the water. The build of the flashlight is solid, though the dive light could be a bit longer for a better grip. My only qualm is the light does not come with a battery indicator light. And the instructions advise not to turn off the light until the end of the dive and the dive light is thoroughly washed/cleaned.The really nice things that stand out are its 3 o-rings to ensure no water leaks into the housing unit, and the threaded end at the front of the dive light. Though this product doesn’t come with additional accessories, if you’re handy, I’m sure you can think of some modifications you can do with a threaded end.For the price, this is an excellent budget dive light. Just remember to bring extra batteries since you can’t see how much battery life there is between dives.

Its a good light for your mask or as a backup
I have this torch in my mask all the time and it is handy when you're in an overhead environment and need a little extra light to see where you are going. For the money, it is an excellent torch for scuba diving and makes for a great attachment for your mask or as a backup light. Not the brightest in the line of torches but definitely worth the money to have in your kit.In addition, Orcatorch support is excellent. I flooded my original D580 and they were quick to reach out and get me a replacement.

Nice backup light
The media could not be loaded. Nice little light for a backup. It take regular batteries and that is nice, since sometimes dive trips are planned last min or if we get a call for an emergency dive and it's not been charged. Will post the video update.Update: sorry the video is choppy. This light was used on a vehicle recovery in the river. It was good quality but a little hard to turn on at first. Was a good size for being busy trying to hook up a vehicle and having so much other stuff that my hands were needed for.

Sturdy, well made light/torch. Perfect for tropical travel, or as a backup.
The OrcaTorch D580 is a really nice little dive light. Really well made (I've dropped it several times already), and it offers a nice tight beam. It's big enough that I found it easy to use even with bulky drysuit gloves on. For Great Lakes diving it makes for a nice back up light, but this would also make a great light to take on tropical trips...perfect for looking into the cracks and crevices in the reef. It would be a great gift for any diver.

No no/off button, must screw/unscrew to turn on and off.
Requires screwing and unscrewing to turn on/off, difficult to do while holding a speargun on one hand, need both hands to turn the flashlight on. This defeats the purpose of having a wrist holster for it, for example.
