Huh. The bi-material approach actually seems to be working. I'm actually kinda impressed.
Anchors for masonry can be a crapshoot. The simple extruded plastic 'cross-sections' either don't fit tight in the hole (because you wallowed out mortar too much), or get chewed by the screw going in and don't hold. Simple hard plastic ones 'snap' between the front ring and the back half if you overbury the screw.These actually seem to work due to the bimaterial design. Have in place in drills in both hollow brick and mortar, and both seemed to hold well (light weight camera mount).My go-to when I don't have good anchors is to drill, inject JB weld and wait for it to cure, then re-drill a pilot. Use the JB-weld as a 'formed in place' anchor. Which is a pain with hollow brick, not to mention introduces a 24 hr delay cycle into your mounting task. These look like they'll save me that effort.
