**Q: Will an alarm go off if a certain sound level is reached? Need this feature for my son.**
A: There is an alarm feature but it is not very loud to hear it if the unit is setup more than 5ft away. When a level is set the numbers will blink/flash for about 10secs to notify you that dB level has been exceeded which i like better than an alarm. Hope this helps.

**Q: What do you suggest to mount the unit on a wall using the threaded connector on the back?  Is that a standard male camera-style threaded screw?**
A: I used a pair of common push pins. Put the plastic parts in the holes, take a piece of paper and push it onto the pin parts. Use a level to make sure the holes in the paper are level, push in the pins, rip off the paper and hang the meter. 5 minutes.

**Q: Does this device allow for a data download onto a computer?**
A: 525A does not support, 525B supports data synchronization to the computer,

**Q: What is the difference between sw-525b and sw-525a?**
A: Yes. :)
