I loved this farm. It is easy to take care of. The Chia seeds grow very quickly so you don't have to worry about them going hungry and you can give them fruits. All of the roly polys were alive when I got the except one but it also came with extra bugs. There was even small babies that came in the package. It is so fun to see the bugs climb up the chia. The roly polys are very cute and fun to play with. I absolutely loved this!!! It is the best thing that I have ever bought.

My son absolutely loves his new roly poky farm that he got for his birthday! He was so excited to receive the live rolies in the mail today! They are all healthy and alive and moving around in the cups and they were packaged so well. The instructions for the farm are very easy and I am very impressed with how minimal the maintenance is for this little ecosystem. Thank you so much to Hanna and her son for sharing your love of these fascinating bugs with us! We plan to be loyal customers.

My son had a Cub Scout activity to build a terrarium and to keep insects for a month so this satisfied both activities. Which was a plus. They came quick, alive with extras. They are interesting creatures and I loved them as a kid. I enjoy watching them walk around the terrarium. The complaints I have are: 1) The “free” Pillbugs it claims your get aren’t actually free. You have to mail back a card to get refunded back but you’re also having to pay $10 for shipping unless you spend $35 of the site - so really you’re not saving any money. 2) You aren’t allowed to pick you color, so my son ended up with a pink container. I ended up going out and buying a different one. Imagine my 10 year old showing off his terrarium to a bunch of other boys with a pink top. Not fun! 3) You get such a small amount of soil with the lot it barely filled the bottom of the carrier. So again, had to go out and buy more soil. 4) the traditional Rollie Pollies we are use to when we were kids, aren’t the “free” ones they give you. There are common pillbugs that don’t roll up into balls. The Rollies I was use to cost extra. I actually did research around the types they offered on their site and found this out myself. They don’t tell you this upfront. 5) After all the above, it’s hard to gift this to someone appropriately without warning them they will have to pay more to set it up or you set it all up for them and fork over the money ahead of time.

My 4 year old has become SO obsessed with roly polys lately. I needed something to put them in and this was perfect! We were so excited to watch the chias grow! Truly so fun. My daughter loves it and her rolys are doing great! Thank you for making it a little easier on parents to make our kids smile. :)

A cheap terrarium with non-transferable substrate and you have to make another purchase to get isopods that you can probably find under a log. Came with some chia seeds that grew well, a plastic pipette, and a moisture pad. Just completely underwhelming, especially after dropping $30 on “Dairy Cow” isopods for it to serve as their little grace yard. Really, get a jar, a book, and collect some from your own yard. The kids will learn A LOT more about terrestrial crustaceans and a lot less about blowing $50 on plastic crud.

I ordered the Roly Poly farm for my great-grandsons (7 and 6 yrs.)that I am homeschooling this year. The set up was super easy to do. They were so excited when they came. We love having this for our science project. I ordered the normal fast producing and the orange as well. I couldn't be more pleased with this order. Everything was just as stated. All the bugs made the trip and lived. They are packed very carefully. I would advise anyone to try this... I can't wait until the Zebra's are back in stock to order them as well. Ok, a 72yr old getting excited about bugs is really something...

I am returning this item; it is my fault that I relied on the photo and not reading the dimensions. This terrarium size is very underwhelming and much smaller than anticipated. It was a gift for my daughter, who ACTUALLY wants a pet tarantula (but I hope will be placated by pet rollie pollies) as she is fascinated by the terrarium enclosures I will look for something larger. Love the pocket pet IDEA and I know she will be thrilled with the other small pocket carrying case I purchased from this company. Just be aware this is smaller than it appears in the photo.

I was skeptical If I could keep my rolys alive. But I’ve had them now for a few weeks and they are thriving so well! It’s so fun watching them explore their habitat! I stated with 5 dalmations then ordered 5 blue heron. I think the more the better. They seemed to become a lot more active after adding the second batch. I noticed the chia plant was shrinking, I followed the instructions, added more seeds and it grows so quickly. They are very happy roly polys! The whole family loves it! Highly recommend! :D
