Excellent Game!
This Game is Awesome! To start obviously if you are a fan of the Dark Souls/Bloodborne Series then you will love this game. I think that adapting it into a card game not only makes sense but makes it a simple and enjoyable game that anyone can play. I played two full games with three friends (all of which are Fans of the souls series). They loved it!. The first lasted close to 45 mins and the second maybe 20-25 mins. It went a bit quicker once we knew how to play. So here are my thought pros/cons about Bloodborne the Card Game. Pros: Simple/Quick set up. Easy to Learn. Fun Art style. Challenging yet possible to beat. Great Group game. Its Bloodborne! Cons: Needs more Boss cards. Ability to play with more than 5 players. Some people may find it a Dark/Disturbing game. More of an advisory. So the pros list is bigger and that's because I honestly didn't find anything wrong with the game. The cons are more like suggestions. Id like to see some sort of add on with more Bosses to fight and maybe more weapon cards. The player limit is probably designed to keep the game more balanced which makes sense. What I like about it though is you can change the rules if you'd like. Like adding more health to the monsters. Really its up to you. But the way the game plays is very fast paced and it requires some strategy but really this game fits all play styles. I like finding games that are easy to explain. That to me makes them easier to understand and play. I only needed to refer to the rules once during our play through. I suggest watching videos on how to play the game and of course give the rule book a read through. You learn as you go along. The game play consists of a series of Rounds where each player picks their weapon card which is placed face down. Each player reveals the card simultaneously. Each card will have a different affect/attack. The instant affect is resolved then the round moves to the monster being fought. That monster has a specific die that will determine the attack damage dealt to each player. Be careful though the die could have the dreaded "+" on it which adds the damage which could result in death. Which is a very common thing in this game. Once the monster is killed each player will collect Blood Echoes which act as victory points at the end of the game. Be careful because death does not come without a price if you die with any unbanked Blood Echoes than you lose them. Luckily though you have the "Hunters Dream" card which protects you from half damage dealt that round, lets you bank your blood echoes, regain health, and gain a more powerful weapon to add to your arsenal. That's about the gist of it! You keep repeating those steps until all the Monsters have been defeated then its onto the Dreaded Final Boss!! At the end the player with the most Blood Echoes/Trophies wins!! In conclusion this is an excellent/quick game to play with friends and family. For the price I was impressed with the quality of the components that came with it. Everything has high detail and durability. (The cards, player mate, tokens, dice, etc.) The replay value is good but will probably get a little repetitive after awhile. Which is why adding more Boss cards would be a smart move. All is all I'm glad that I bought this game and I look forward to playing it some more. Hope this review helps! Game On!! EDIT: In my review I mentioned how I would like to see additional content to this game. They recently released an expansion with additional boss cards, runes, and weapons. I would recommend grabbing this to add on to the base game it really adds some sweet new mechanics and more options for different playstyles.

A very fun card game
In Bloodborne, 3 to 5 players take on the role of hunters fighting all sorts of nightmarish beasts in order to gain their blood and trophies. To do this, you'll slowly amass an arsenal of different weapon cards, and secretly choose one to deploy. Though you are all working together, there can be only one winner and so every player has plenty of motivation to mess with and "accidentally" injure other players as much as possible. I bought this game to play at a get together with a few friends of mine, some of whom are avid board gamers, and some of whom who weren't as invested in the hobby. I wasn't sure how well this game would go over with a crowd like that, but much to my surprise, we had a blast with this game. The game's rules are pretty simple to learn, yet the game still has a good amount of depth. It's great fun to flip over a card that deals damage to every other player, or to reveal that you decided to selfishly sit out this round to regain your health when you know full well that your fellow hunters were counting on you to be the one to take down the monster. This game really lets you have a ton of fun being a total jerk to your friends. One of the best parts is that dying only causes you to sit out for one round, so no one is ever permanently eliminated from the game. The components are also really well done. The cards are nice and thick and glossy and the artwork on them is fantastic. None of my friends had ever played the Bloodborne video game but they were all remarking on how cool and creepy the monsters looked. And, as someone who has played Bloodborne, I can say that the card game captures the feel of the video game pretty well. The only negative I can say about this game is that two of the five bosses have effects that are completely dumb and no fun at all. One of them artificially extends the game's length and the other introduces player elimination. My friends and I just houseruled that these bosses have no effect, which solves the problem, but still it would be nice if these two bosses had more interesting effects. Otherwise, I really love this game and I think it would play really well in almost any group, provided that no one is super sensitive about "take that" moments. If your friends love board games with strong theming and the ability to gleefully mess with other players, I highly recommend Bloodborne.

A Beautiful Balance Between Working Together and Betrayal
I really enjoy this game. When I pull this out, I always play more than one round, always. It’s quick yet feels as if there is a lot of depth. It’s a mini deck building game, so no two games are the same as players build up their arsenal to fight monsters which can change every game too. What makes it great though is the strategy between helping the other players and betraying them. You have to decide to work together to defeat a monster but in the end, only one person can really claim a reward for finishing off the challenge. The fight between deciding to hinder others or help others is really what grabs me and my friends when I bring this to the table for a gaming session. It’s a great game that you can pull out and finish pretty fast. I think the longest a game has gone for me was 45 min but that was also with me teaching everyone how to play. On average a game lasts 30 mins and that’s easier to do than getting together for a game that may take 4 hours. It fast, it’s fun and I never get bored with it because it’s different every time.

Great Card Game Skinned with a Great Game IP
I'm writing this as a diehard Bloodborne fan who's been through the game five times with multiple different builds. Just a little background fyi. First of all, I love the card game. I want to get that out of the way before I criticize anything minor out of my love of the the IP. It's not an expensive game, the box and contents are very high quality, and it's a lot of fun. It's inconvenient at times that it takes 3 players minimum to play...but actually I've played games where I control 3 players and try to find the best logical moves for each player and I've had a great time with that. But the game really does shine in the social dimensions of the design and I strongly recommend buying it and playing with frie.nds. Put on the Bb OST for added fun. Anyway, it's definitely worth the money. Buy it. That said, I wish the rules more closely reflected the IP's lore in many cases. I wish there were more variety in the cards and more of Bb's enemies, characters, bosses and items represented. I know an expansion is coming though and I'm eager to give more money to the creators.

Love the look of the game, rules are a little meh
I really liked this one however I will say there needs to be more variations of cards. Everyone starts with the exact same hand of cards and since you are supposed to be working together/working against one another, it makes it predictable starting out. That being said there is a variety of bosses and enemies to choose from so each game is slightly different than the last. The games can be really quick once you get the rules down, which are pretty easy to learn. The flare of the game is super evident especially if you have played the videogame. The cards look amazing and the tokens are top notch. The one downside for me was that after I played about 3 games I started to get bored. Also not a fan of the "reveal your cards at the same time" mechanic they have built into the game rules. I think if they release an expansion that added even more selection of weapons and items that you can gather then this game would be tons better.

The real opponents are your friends
Easy to learn, quick playing, quasi-cooperative(/backstabby), deck-building dungeon crawl with plenty of opportunity to either press your luck for big scores/wipeouts or to play it nice and safe. That's about it in a nutshell. Although fighting the monsters seems like a cooperative effort, it really isn't. You'll all be attacking the monsters but if you "accidentally" catch everybody on fire right when a companion/opponent was on the verge of dying... oops. Or maybe you pop off a quick shot, kill the boss you'd all been fighting for multiple rounds, and prevent somebody else from collecting trophies. The real game here isn't against the monsters, you'll get through the dungeon one way or another. The game is against your fellow hunters who you're trying to outscore by constantly undermining their efforts while at the same time trying to fend off their attempts to do the same. You have to keep track of what cards they have, which they've already played, and, most importantly, their tendencies & habits all so you can make your best play. Going gung-ho for the big damage hits can work IF you do it at the right time; it can also net you very little if somebody anticipated your move and has a card that can trip you up. Likewise, always looking to backstab others will only cost you opportunities to score for yourself when your opponents catch on to your suspicious nature. Dying is going to happen and it's only terrible if you've been too greedy and haven't spent a turn to back up your blood points... if you've been plowing ahead and have built a nice pile of unsaved points, then dying is going to hurt when you lose them all. This is the press-your-luck aspect of the game. Otherwise, dying is a brief setback... it's somewhat the same as saving except for the key difference of losing vs securing your unsaved points. (unless your final boss is the one where you're out after two deaths, heh, that one really changes things but all the final bosses have a specific, fundamental tweak to the game rules) The monsters themselves aren't just practice dummies for everybody to score points off; they're capable enough to constantly get in the way of all the scheming. Just last night, we fought a boss (Father Gascione, red boss) who twice wiped out every hunter with repetitive crit rolls which were enough to kill even a fully healed hunter. That just resets all the best laid plans all around the table. Combined with permanently losing any weapon you attack him with meant that while we were initially reluctant to hit him hard, by the end we were burning through the item deck throwing everything at him... backstabbing was (not quite :)) temporarily halted. So between your opponent's scheming and the monsters abilities and damage rolls, there's plenty going on for such a simple game. If everybody is attentive, games go by pretty fast. If everybody is really dialed in, the games will be awesome.

An Amazing Card Game For An Amazing Video Game!
I love Bloodborne. It may be my favorite game of all time, it's definitely in the top 5. When I saw that there was a card game available, I had to buy it. And I'm so glad I did. The game is so in depth and very fun to play with a group, but still gives that feeling of fighting beasts tooth and nail just to survive. The theme of working with other players while plotting against them to take the win is such a Bloodborne thing to do, and this game does it perfectly. The games last roughly an hour each depending on how many players there are. With 3 players it was about 45 minutes (of course we were still learning to play so I'm sure it wouldn't take as long now) but just adding one more player made the game more difficult and longer, which is definitely a good thing! I whole heartedly recommend this game to fans of the Soulsborne series, or just people who love board and card games.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! i love it so much! Its fun. its just like the game. You have all the bosses from the game and even a good amount of regular enemy's too. Its comes with everything you need to play the game. The expansion pack adds more bosses and even runes but its not needed to play. Replayibility is also really high. Its 100% worth it if you love the game and would like a game to play with your friends and family.

Great Quality
Thrilled with the quality of the product - great art work, great looking tokens and counters. The Rule Book reads really well, everything lines up and looks great when together. The box interior is well designed to sort and hold the contents as well. A great looking game and collectible

Worth the purchase
I always knew this will be a game I will enjoy, and true enough, it is as fun as I thought. The only issue is finding the required number of players to play. I am also a game designer, and I am in the habit of editing the rules for board and card games, and as a testament to how good the game is, I see no means of doing so for this particular one. Take that as a statement of how close to perfection the game is, based on three factors: fun factor, game design, elegance of mechanics.
