This made a terrific gift for my Dad - watching your civil liberties disappear on a mug is much better than in real life! Really nice quality, crisp clear printing, and works just as advertised.

This is an eye-catching gift for those with a penchant for history, politics, and novelty items. It is not crafted as a fine piece of china; however, it is a delicate item. Be very careful and read the directions that come with the mug. You will see that it CANNOT BE WASHED IN THE DISHWASHER. If you do, your Civil Liberties will literally wash away--forever. Rinse out the mug after using it to minimize the amount of washing and handling it requires. Use a soft sponge and a bit of soap to wash it. That's it. And it should last for a long time. I previously bought another 'disappearing' mug close to a year ago. It is still in good shape and draws amazed comments when someone sees it change for the first time. This is an interesting way to re-familiarize ourselves with our Bill of Rights and to see how they are disappearing.

Bought this for my husband as a fun gift for graduating law school. He is going into the criminal defense field, so the humor is perfect. There were several requests for one from several other lawyers in the family after seeing it. I would agree with some of the other reviewers that the quality isn't top notch, but for a novelty gift that won't get heavy use, its not such a big deal (to us, anyway...). If you are looking for a fun gift to give a lawyer or future lawyer, this is a good one!

It’s a lovely cup. Reminds me of living in America. I can watch my freedoms diminish as my coffee cools down. Don’t wash this cup in the dishwasher.

Very nice. Funny. Timely. Good gag. Only two criticisms: First is that the tenth amendment doesn't seem to disappear, and that's the one that should disappear first. Second, you must NOT put THIS MUG, into your DISHWASHER...unless, of course, you're a fan of Salvador Dali, and want to see your liberties literally slide into a surreal soup of letters. Don't ask how I know. It really would be great if this were dishwasher safe.
