I have now bought two sets of these. They are light to carry and very easy to use. My one complaint is not about the lights but about the app used to run them. The phone app is a bit slow and will only support six devices. Any more than six devices and the app starts working very erratically. I also have three spotlights from GVM, and I can't control them with the app when running both sets of the LED lights. If you have fewer than six GVM lights, this would never be a problem. To be honest, I have an older phone, and maybe it's the phone's fault I am having these problems, but I have never been able to get an answer from GVM about this issue.

I really love these lights! With the cord, they were great, but now that I’ve switched to battery on these they are a GAME CHANGER! For the price, you can’t do better. That said, they did make sacrifices to keep the cost down. A few of the cons to these (but again, I still gave 5 stars because in this price point you really can’t go wrong with these) 1) The barn doors and light casing is cheap plastic. So far they’ve held up but I was really hoping for something more. Also, beware - if you turn the light without loosening it a good amount, you could force the bolt on the side to split the plastic bracket. That would essentially make this light useless, so there’s that. 2) The stands are absolute garbage. Others have mentioned it and if you front mount your lights and raise them above chest level you’ll see what we mean, but that said, carry some sand bags and know that going into it. Don’t set these on uneven ground. Use common sense and you can get by. Still, I’ve replaced each stand and use the ones that came with as a backup now. 3) The app to control the lights really needs some work, if you just need to control one light at a time, it works fine. If you need to control a group of them or set a scene, you’re out of luck. You have to log in and log out of each light to get to the next and it takes far too long if your changing them real-time for video or production, but if you’re just setting up shots and can afford to take the time to adjust each separately, then you’re good. Despite the negatives, I didn’t buy these for the stands and I have high hopes they will get the app and functionality up to par. The lights, however, are my go to for 90% of my sets and at this price, that’s just kinda crazy.

I'll preface this by saying that these were ordered for our filming studio set up at our church. I wanted three lights for filming with versatility. These lights definitely fit the bill! I really like the ability to change the brightness and color temperature of each light. I need to spend more time deciding my preferred settings but overall, very pleased! One thing that has brought me to only a 4 star review is that 2 of the 3 lights work exactly how they should. On 1 of the lights, the brightness knob does not work. It will not adjust the brightness levels. The only way I can get it to work is using the app, which is fine if I'm the one using the lights, but will not work if someone else is using them and doesn't have the app. I have been in contact with the seller to hopefully get this resolved.

I'm rather disappointed with the brightness of these. It's tough to get a proper exposure for even 30 fps video with them sixish feet away. That's the nature of RGB lights though since they're splitting their power between the colors; wish I realized that when I bought them. Tilting them with their sold separately softbox can be a pain as the mounting bracket gets in the way; mounting it sideways kind of defeats the small footprint advantage they have, and the way they're connected you overcrank one side when trying to tilt, which can be a pita to juggle. They still work well for as fill lights and it is a bit nice to have their color flexibility on the fly. If I was doing it over and really needed flat panels I'd get Daylight one's and gel them as needed. Although really, I've learned to love mono-style lights with bowen mounts for the massive options that mount gives.

These lights are stunning!! Very good quality, very sturdy. All three lights can be controlled by the app, independently or any combination of 'master and slave' settings. Using the app on this light is even easier than on previous GVM lights as it uses the GVM II App and you are able to link it in less than 15 seconds.. Just switch the light to APP, then open the app and it will scan for BT items, once found in the list you hit connect. That is it.. No setting up WiFi needed. Plus I don't have to disconnect my phone from my WiFi network to use these lights. They have a nice variety of lighting effects; disco, party, cops, lighting, paparazzi, candles, TV glow, flickering bad bulbs with any degree of intensity from 0 - 100%. With the RGB and bi-color functions of these lights, they are very versatile. Super easy to set up with tripod stands that adjust to up to 8 feet tall. The lighting is perfect for glamorous photo shoots or just regular casual photo shoots. Well-made and perfect for a self-starter photographer. Build quality of the lights is good. Metal construction, solid. They seem like they will last a long time. Especially with the supplied case, which should keep them all safe when transporting.

Returned. Lights may be great - customer support- not so much. One panel arrived with a bent frame, not allowing the panel to swivel downward. Contacted GVM who offered to replace the damaged panel, and asked me to send defective panel back once the new one arrived. I should add that the "support" website for GVM has a phone number that goes to voice mail suggesting to send an email. I never got tracking info and emailed GVM. Twice. No response. Contacted Amazon who suggested that both they - and I would reach out to GVM again. I did so, only to get a response that they are closed for Chinese New Year. When a response arrived, GVM wrote that since hadn't returned the damaged panel - they haven't sent the new one. Directly below in the email thread was their initial response offering a new panel and to return the defective part when the new one arrived. So, I contacted Amazon and after the representative looked into the situation, said the only option was to return the entire kit. My concern was that if GVM is so difficult to deal with when the item is new...how will they be if I needed service down the road.

We're using these for small stage lights versus photo lights. They are hung from truss and we have the softbox attachment which is great. The quality of light is excellent- color temp between the 3 is close enough. The app works well, however, it is not fast - requires connecting to each light to make changes. One thing that is helpful for us is that if they are powered off (not through the app) but by a switch etc - they remember the last state they were in - color temp, brightness etc. For photography or video, I would definitely get this power range of lights - less and you would have to have the lights much closer to the subject.

When I first got these and unboxed them, you could feel the quality one thing I did notice is that one of the plastic gates in front of the lights was broken during shipping and I have to give this company absolutely five stars for their customer service. I reached out to them. They asked for a picture of the broken item and without question they sent replacements and they got here faster than the lights themselves that Amazon shipped so if you're going to get lights, these are fantastic easy to use very bright and I recommend them.
