Batman: Year One - Commemorative Edition (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray)

I loved this movie, I've owned Dark Knight returns deluxe edition for quite some time before I bought this and I probably like that film a bit more still, but that doesn't take away from how much fun this is. Gritty, urban, awesome Batman origin story that laid the groundwork for a lot of movies to come (Batman Begins and the Batman for sure). The 4K really adds some depth to the image. Blacks are super deep, and there's a lot of shadows in this movie. The neon lights of the downtown district really glow and you can clearly see the HDR pumping out some bright colors. Batman in the best viewing possible..

This one's a must have for Batman stans, I mean fans... Animation is great, Gordon isn't some perfect white knight and it shows the corruption in Gotham within the system that Batman and Gordon have to fight just as much as the criminal element.

In the animated Batman world, There's a trinity of films I hold in high regard. Under the Red Hood, The Dark Knight Returns, and Batman: Year One. The 4K release is a great presentation. It's not a 4K demo disc by any means, however you'll be immensely satisfied with the added color saturation from the 4K grading. No halos in the dark scenes at all, and I feel the audio received a lovely boost as well. If you're satisfied with the blu ray, then you should be alright. I still feel the color saturation (especially for the dark scenes) makes it worth its money. Great packaging, great bonus features on the included blu ray.

It is a incredible Animated movie that follows the graphic novel closely.

I think I got a used copy. No shrink wrap and the digital code seems to have been redeemed already.

Movie is great, but the 4k blu ray does not work in a Xbox series X. Must be some filetype issue. I've tried 2 copies. I have also seen a similar review. If your blu ray 4k player is an xbox series machine, its likely not gonna work.

Ordered and returned 2 different packages. There is a problem with the 4K disks...won't work on our Xbox. Don't know why as we have other 4K movies that work fine so it's not our system.
