These have the same or fewer calories than a typical "slim jim" style snack, but they are lower in fat, are thicker, and meatier. They are satisfying and filling - and ideal snack if you're the sort of person who randomly craves meat or protein between meals. The black pepper hides any gamey flavor from the ostrich. The only negative is that the lower fat gives them a somewhat drier mouth feel than typical similar products though they are still moister than dry jerky.

Great product! Tastes like a slightly tangy regular jerky, but healthier, and PACKED with protein. For an exceedingly healthy meal I would warm up a package of Tasty Bite Madras Lentils Entree, Heat & Eat, 10-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) and chop up one stick of beef jerky into it. You end up with a tasty 380 Calorie meal that is packed with 28 grams of protein!

I used to love this product! It was unavailable for many months. As soon as I saw it again for sale, I immediately bought 3 packs. I have no idea what the company did to the product, but the flavor changed drastically. It is much drier than before and is not tasty at all in my opinion. Please bring back the original Ostrim Pepper flavor!
