How does it wake from going to sleep? Does it have to be turned back on or will it just wake-up?

We tend to switch it off (there is a toggle on the unit) after use to avoid battery drain (it is rechargeable). Is there a reason why you would prefer to keep it on even when not in use?

Does the receiver have auto-off/timeout like the the more expensive NUX set does?

yes, it will turn off auto if no use for some time.

How would i go about using these with my pedalboard? can i buy two sets of these, then set them on the same channel? thanks for any info!

Typically you can buy several transmitters and use one receiver so on the same channel, BUT only have one transmitter on at a time... If you turn more than one on at the same time, the receiver gets confused... Personally I find it easier to just keep one set and switch with each instrument, if that is your intended use...

Does it work with active pups

it works with some active pickups,but not 100%. it is designed for passive pickups.
